Yeah I agree, never much of a fan, but completely lost me a few years ago when he went on an abusive tirade against a young journo who wrote a review about one of his shows he didn't like....

Their list needs a bit more depth if he's the first one up when they need a replacement, and in the first week of the finals too!

Never have i seen so many North articles in such a short space of time. Every second article has a North link, to be mentioned in the Trade whispers so often for potential incoming players is a refreshing change I must say. The Clarko effect in full force and the bloke hasn't even officially taken the reins. Not even the peanut gallery knifings we've all become accustomed to can dampen the air of positivity around the club. Inspiring.

The real issue is the quality of the recruiting staff and their ability to pick future players.
We have had so many wasted years of recruitment.
So many player who ended up as also rans or never was never will be.
Just for fun go back thought the draft and play coulda shoulda woulda and see who we could have recruited over the years, it will make you weep.

When I want to have some fun I will give that a try.


But when I want to have some real fun I will try the same game for other clubs or I may try another fun game, how many duds were picked before Larkey? When I get bored with that I may try, how many duds were picked before Zurhaar?

if you think about it we typically have 4 selections a year at the draft, we need to average 2 players a year.
Over 10 years that's 20 players or a 50% strike rate.
I'd suggest our long term average over the last 15 years has been well below that, I nominate 2011 as our worst year at the draft.

Recruitment has been terrible for a few years, pleased to see a change this year

its when you have someone like polly tied up on a 5 year deal it really sucks, even JZs 2 year extension i can cop given he has earned it over his tenure.

Really? From 2016 to 2019 we've been linked every trade period to almost every free agent there is. In addition we haven't had notable outgoing players other than Tarrant. Higgins to geelong was amicable.

It's been refreshing the last couple of years to know we're not going to overpay someone to get them to the club.
