God, this is bullshit. Carlton get re-given a game that they lost in the first place because they refused to put in the minimal effort to make it successful. They take it away from the Bulldogs who had been very good partners, visiting the kids in hospital and helping promote it.

Great result for the Club.

Playiing Carlton will guarantee much stronger crowds which will keep campaigners like the 5 minute fireman at bay - on that issue at least.

North and Carlton was always the best fit for the game.

The Hospital is wedged between both suburbs and both Clubs - unlike a stack of others - at least retain a local presence through their training bases.

North and Carlton have also had a much stronger rivalry over the decades than the other two and I can see this game elevating even more once we improve on field.

Mate it has to become water of the Ducks back, otherwise you'll go mad.

We're a small club and have been atrocious on field winning 9.5 of our last 56. We've done very well to hold the game and things will improve from here.

If we're half serious we'll push them on GF, they aint very good.

We had partnered with Carlton on this proposal for many years but I don't recall that they ever got cold feet or were unwilling to commit.
