Why? It was before he was at North.

He won’t be convicted as it’s civil proceedings. He hasn’t been charged with anything so can’t be convicted.
The court of public opinion finds him GUILTY

You can't see that back corner so he probably wouldn't know he got him. But FFS you can see out the front windscreen and be 100% aware you are overtaking somebody, and make room. If he can't see that, or did and refused to make room, then should never drive again. Driving trucks is hard. If you are not good at it, don't do it.

yep, as someone that ownes and drives trucks with trailers its hard. Thats why cyclists shouldn't be on busy roads that dont have bike lanes. When you've got so many selfish dicks that wont let you change lanes when you need to and trucks take a lot of time to break, you dont need some nob jockey on his pushy getting in the way. Stick to bike paths ya nob.

Good to see that it's not just football you are completely ignorant about yet unfailingly confident you are correct.

Arch is in the wrong here and would definitely be prone to road rage but I do believe him that it wasn't intentional. Having said that, he is still to blame in the accident and should face the consequences.

He is in the wrong but I do find it a bit strange that the cyclist rang the company asking for money rather than reporting it to the police.

Some people are completely ignorant to how hard it is for trucks to stop. I hate it when they cut in front of a truck just before a red light, it’s like they expect the truck to stop like a car. People should think of them more like road trains.

Big agree. Too often I see people dart in front of trucks dangerously, or speeding up to not let them in.

At the same time though too often I see trucks in the middle lane driving 10kph over the speed limit a bee's dick from a small car's rear end, knowing full well how long it will take them to stop.

Driving has gotten noticeably bad over the past few years in Melb to the point I now try to avoid it, when I used to love it.

Yeah I was going to add that to my post, it doesn’t help that there’s a lot of dickhead truckies out there that use the size of their trucks to intimidate.

On the other hand there’s a lot of dickhead cyclists out there that don’t do the cycling community any favours by only obeying the road rules when it suits, or the campaigners that don’t move over to let a car past.

So, decided to have a look at the area as I dont know it. Plenty of back street he could have taken, even with bike paths through parks. What some cyclist fail to understand is that riding is dangerous. We have done so much to make roads safer but some stupid riders still think they can own the road. From the footage it is clearly a dangerous road for a bike and anyone with half a brain would avoid it. So I'm guessing you only have a quarter of a brain.

I'm ignorant
Agreed.

We've done f all in Victoria to make roads safer. We spend close to nothing on making roads safer for cyclists / pedestrians and we continue to spend massive amounts of money on failing to improve.

We spend less than 1% of road funding on cycling infrastructure in Victoria per year (leaving aside the quality of that expenditure which is a whole other issue). Being a truck driver doesn't make you an expert in anything, even driving trucks. Almost everyone in this country drives a car - which also doesn't make them experts on driving. If being a truck driver was a determinant of competency we wouldn't have meme's about the Montague St or Napier St bridges.

Thats so funny. You edited my post to make it look like I said I was ignorant. That's a serious crack up, well done. It was getting a bit heated there but you've lightend the mood with a cracking joke, a dip my hat to you.

As I said, a quick look at google maps showed back streets with a bike path through a park. And who said being a truck driver was a determinant of competency? You've shot yourself in the foot. If you think truck drivers are dumb, what the **** are you doing riding a bike on a 2 lane busy road with out a bike lane when there's a much safer route a block over? To think you try and defend the behaviour just shows I was right when I said you have a quarter of a brain. Or maybe I over compensated?

If I read this correctly, it is fine to hit cyclists on a road when they had an alternative road they could have ridden on?

I remember the days when people just tried to do the right thing by their fellow human, the human race as a collective really are a bunch of turds these days.

nope, you didn't read it correctly at all. And yep, people should do the right thing and not ride their push bikes in dangerous situations.
