The thing is everything is gonna look sexier once the back 6 is sorted then watch the media say someshit like 'we're the best bottom 4 side ever' and goodbye priority picks.

Clarkson said repeatedly that our back 6 struggles or has no good ball users coming out of the backline. In today's game, that sends a message to opposition to immediately setup for the long kick down the line or push the zone forward through the middle for the turnover. We're so boringly predictable back there it's ridiculous how badly it's impacting the rest of the team.

It's not even just about good ball users but we could literally do so much better with an athletic player that can kick half decently. That's how low the bar has been set for our backline and they can't get near it.

Lmac has regressed, Corr's form is falling, JZ has lost a bit of form, Logue and McKay are doing their best and we're trying to play Bergs as much as we can because he's so much better than his teammates with the ball.

The sooner Goater, Young, Dawson, Perez, Bergman etc. get some more AFL exposure, the better we will be. They are all huge upgrades on their senior counterparts.

McKay and Logue (possibly Corr as backup) are unfortunately the only blokes I would keep. The young boys should be able to rotate through there and I think this is the original Clarko plan eventually.
Pretty much spot on. I think just having 2 extra players with creativity and run is worth the potential turnovers at this point, it will at least make the team less predictable. Once that occurs teams can't setup as easily against us and flow on benefits occur. Goater obviously would be a great help but it's also one of the reasons I'd be willing to put Dawson for example into the team now - he is willing to run and attack (whether or not he is capable is TBC) and this is what we need currently to free the rest of the team up IMO.

Media Street: Serial pest Nelly Yoa interviewed on SEN

SEN has ‘taken responsibility’ for allowing serial fabricator Nelly Yoa on the air to be interviewed by the teenage host of its kids’ sports program.

Serial pest Nelly Yoa and his elaborate lies have claimed another victim.

Yoa, who is known for his fabrication of outlandish stories, popped up on SEN on Sunday morning on a show hosted by 16-year-old Max Becker.

And, once again, he’d spun his way onto the airwaves.

Poor Becker and his production team were fooled by Yoa’s sprouting, which over the journey has included claims of being a close friend of Usain Bolt and an aspiring Socceroo who trialled at EPL club Chelsea.

He also previously uploaded a video to YouTube about training with Collingwood while his social media pages are littered with questionable posts including a claim that he was nominated for Australian of the Year in 2021.

Back in 2018 Yoa was pictured with then Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson on the red carpet at the Brownlow Medal. He claimed he’d received a VIP invitation but was kicked out after being found hiding in a toilet.

On Sunday Becker started the segment by saying he was “honoured” to have Yoa on the show before questioning him about “rubbing shoulders” with Usain Bolt and LeBron James.

And it got worse from there.

Thankfully, someone smelt a rat in SEN after the interview and decided to not upload it to the station’s podcast, meaning there is no record of the Yoa ramblings.

An SEN spokesperson confirmed the embarrassing blunder to Media Street: “An interview aired briefly that shouldn’t have that wasn’t vetted by our team. We have addressed the matter and reaffirmed our vetting process.

“The interview hasn’t been made available on our digital platforms and we take responsibility.”

Becker is a protege of SEN boss Craig Hutchison, who took a liking to the teenager when he appeared on his podcast The Sporting Max.

He made a big impression on Hutchison, who then found a show for Becker to steer each Sunday morning called The Kids’ Edition.

The program, which runs from 8am-9am, was previously hosted by AFLW star Daisy Pearce, with Becker taking over as co-host alongside another AFLW star Ellie Blackburn last year.

Yoa was back in the headlines late last year when he tricked South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas’ social media team to help facilitate his latest publicity stunt in Adelaide.

It was from the LIV Golf Tour launch with Yoa uploading a photo – which was taken by someone in the room – of Malinauskas and Greg Norman on stage with a caption that described the coup as a “massive get for Adelaide and Australia”.

The Premier’s account and Norman both shared his post to their hundreds of thousands of followers.

Yoa rose to prominence when he fabricated a story – which made the front page of The Age in 2018 – about his involvement mentoring South Sudanese youth during a rise in gang violence in Victoria.

He was later convicted of perjury after he fabricated a story to police about being assaulted by a woman.

Yoa made a scene arriving at Melbourne Magistrates court with a bizarre entourage of security guards and luxury cars. He got out of a white Rolls-Royce wearing a pink jacket and was flanked by eight “bodyguards”, who ran alongside the car as it arrived.

Yoa claimed he got the cars for his “good mate” Mick Gatto, who later confirmed he’d never heard of Yoa.

Deputy chief magistrate Felicity Broughton didn’t miss him when handing down sentencing, saying: “Your preoccupation with your reputation and public image are a confabulation of a narcissistic individual ... aimed at protecting any constructed public image,”

Didn't think Twinkletoes would be into that kinda thing, tbh.

Kangaroos legend Glenn Archer fined after crashing into cyclist

Former AFL star Glenn Archer has admitted careless driving after knocking down a cyclist while overtaking him on a suburban Melbourne road.

The former North Melbourne captain and premiership player was driving a truck and towing a trailer and excavator when he overtook the cyclist on Rosanna Road in Heidelberg on January 11.

North Melbourne legend Glenn Archer has apologised over a truck crash that left a cyclist with life long injuries.

When traffic in front of him built up, Archer merged back into the left lane of the dual lane road but hadn’t yet cleared the cyclist’s path.

The man was knocked off his bike onto the kerb, and his bike became tangled in the trailer’s wheel arch. Archer failed to stop, claiming he didn’t realise he’d hit the man.

But the incident was captured on dashcam footage by another driver, and included branding for Archer’s tree lopping company which allowed police to track him down.

Paramedics took the cyclist to hospital where he was treated for three broken ribs, swelling to one knee, neck pain and grazing over his body.

Archer pleaded guilty in Heidelberg Magistrates Court on Thursday to a charge of careless driving.

The victim, who was in court, said he suffers constant headaches and flashbacks and said his life will never be the same again.

The man had to cancel a family trip to Europe and said his life now consists of surgery and rehabilitation multiple times a day.

Archer told police said he had “absolutely zero idea” that he had hit someone.

“If I knew I hit someone, I’m definitely stopping,” he said.

After watching footage of the collision he admitted his driving could definitely be considered careless.

Archer’s lawyer told the court his client is on the road all day, every day as the owner of his tree lopping business.

He apologised to the cyclist through his lawyer, having been discouraged by police from reaching out personally.

Archer was convicted and fined $1500. The offence carries a maximum penalty of $2200.

“It has had a considerable impact on the victim, albeit that it may have been unintentional,” Magistrate Timothy Hoare said.

Archer kicked 143 goals in 311 games for the Kangaroos between 1992 and 2007.

It was always a worry when the girls in the chemist shop would check the photos to make sure they weren't blurry. And third photo in, after the one of your mum's favourite rose and the family cat was the start of those pictures....

It was not just the girls in the chemist shop......the things I've seen.

While it seems unlikely there was any malice I still maintain that using a vehicle is absolutely the easiest way to maim or kill someone with minimal consequences. The level of care people have when wielding a potentially deadly piece of equipment would never be allowed on a workplace. The video showed a damning lack of awareness.

Shocked to read that $2200 is the maximum fine. I guess the TAC provides funding to help the victim but the limited options to punish an offending driver don’t seem appropriate.
