That's actually impressive. Usually their guests are past players, so to have 2 of our first year players on when as a team we are terrible, is good (from an exposure perspective). i.e I don't think they've had the Daicos boys on yet?

Bucks just suggested that McKay chose to lean back with Petty in the tackle (which resulted in a broken fault), rather than tackle him with forward momentum which could have resulted in Petty's head hitting the ground and getting suspended for causing concussion. Interesting theory.

Why do they have to want a current player? Surely someone recently retired (Selwood for the sake of the argument, but an A grade candidate given his CV)) would be a better option?
Hurn, Ziebell, Tarrant, just from this years retirees alone.

Just wait til he retires if you want him that bad.

Noticed an article somewhere in here with the headline North have shining stars or stars shining brightly . What are they talking about we have won fk all games in 4 yrs. Give us our priority picks pricks(say that fast). So its ok for all these teams to acquire priority picks and have their time at the top but not us.
It probably has to do with the fact, in a galaxy far far away now, for a number of decades we embarrassed and more often than not beat every team in the competition even though they had better facilities and money.

"in a new initiative to get MORE people on the roads".

Huh? you guys want more people on the roads? Whenever I'm Melb it seems like traffic gets worse and worse, and it takes longer to get to anywhere than it did before, there are more accidents, etc.

Here is South East Asia it's the opposite, they are trying to get more people off the roads and onto public transport including ride sharing. Although I guess the key difference here is that governments are actually investing in public transport infrastructure, unlike in Oz.

I don't love the vic gov on a few matters but lack of public transport spending probably not fair. They have removed a crap load of level crossings and also the biggest expansion of the train network since the city loop. They could probably do more but what government couldn't

That's true, but it's taken decades for those works to be done. They were well overdue.
The city loop was built in the 80s, nothing had been done for 40 years.

And still no commitment for a train to and from the airport.

No one would have believed in the early years of the 21st century that our world was being watched by intelligences greater than our own; that as men busied themselves about their various concerns, they observed and studied, the way a man with a microscope might scrutinize the creatures that swarm.

Chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one they said.

But still they come.

The cylinder, still too hot to touch, embedded in the ground just north of Epping is being closely watched by authorities. ABC News will provide updates...

I’m following in Lloyds footsteps and coming up with a plan to get North back up the ladder:

- instead of drafting guys that are not good, we should look to draft players who aren’t not good. Thoughts?

- we should trade guys in that aren’t not good. Off the top of my head guys like Bont, Nick Daicos, Curnow, Butters, and Bont. But not pay them a lot, so we can get more other aren’t not good players. Thoughts?

- on game day, I reckon we should look to tackle real good, and when we kick and handball to players on our team. I’m not a coach, but have you guys noticed that when we have the ball, we seem to kick to the other team instead of our players. For those that have been around a while, is that directed by the coaches, or more senior players. Thoughts?

- I reckon we need to get Wayne Carey down to Arden Street to coach. He was the greatest player, and we don’t use him enough. Could teach all the players how to mark and kick goals. Thoughts?

- get more Friday night games to get more members. Thoughts?

I’ve put this in a email ready to send to Clarko and James Brayshaws, but want some feed back before I hit send.

Carey was our Greatest player in the history of our club and that’s it.
As for him been involved as a coach to help out you won’t see it unfortunately.
What you should put in your email is a supporters day after the season so supporters can have a say.

Why do we want to look to tackle when we kick and handball to our players? That's just insane. The rest of it, print it out, laminate it, and stick on the back of the dunny door at Arden street for everyone to read twice a day.

Can go 1 better, instead of having a one-off supporters day at the end of the season for feedback, as part of our membership packages, instead of a scarf, we should be provided coaches and players mobile numbers and home addresses so we can deliver feedback when and how we see fit. Should be available as part of all packages, except 3 game GA.

Like I said, I’m not a coach. I don’t understand all the intricacies of a coaches game plan.

My only experience coaching is my daughters under 9 netball team, and they aren’t old enough to tackle yet.
