I haven't bought a newspaper in years. Laughed when I saw that a slim copy of the ad-filled Sunday Age now costs $4.50.

It’s crazy, papers went from being paid for by advertising to now having to cover the costs with cover price.

Reckon next AFL TV rights deal will take a severe hit if this gets passed.

The fall out on so many businesses and people will be enormous.

no one wants to condone it but its pretty simplistic to just say barry cable is an outcast. IF this wasnt done by him then they would be saying what a legend he is. The point is as far as a football player and in regard to the fc he is still a legend. You can seperate the 2 if you want and clubs should. As i said, the law is there to punish people, and people shouldnt thrown rocks especially if they dwell in glass houses. The problem is i gaurantee you there will be others like this that dont get the same treatment because there are other issues involved and when you hear crickets like that you can only shake your head.
Something about Port Adelaide and moral compasses.

possibly, but we are all paying for problem gambling through increased insurance form theft, policing, welfare pressure to support families with problem gamblers, and the list goes on, iam convinced the net benefit will be better with decreased gambling.

they might lose revenue but the next industry will come along, may be life insurance, car manufacturers, food companies, or tractors or whatever.

Cable got me thinking about 1983, and I wanted to ask does anyone know why we don't have our McClelland trophies displayed in our trophy cabinet?
I always wondered why the team fell of the perch in that final against *. We were convinced there was something wrong. One blinding quarter and three disgusting efforts.

Was before my time but it is pretty bizarre, we had beaten both * and Hawthorn during the regular season, best guess is the Fitzroy mauling suggests we couldn't handle when the oppo team got a serious run on.

It was as if the team laid down. They played one quarter to show they could do it.

Who knows? Maybe I'm just still in shock from the mauling.
