Horrible horrible news, I can't even imagine what the McVeigh family must be going through at the moment. My heart and my heartfelt sympathies go out to them and I hope they have all the support around them that they need to comfort them in this terrible time of loss.

wow..just tragic. A horror month for the Swans family with the tragic death of the young Wollongong parents in Lygon st after the Richmond game, and the recent deaths of Ian Carroll and Gary Ticehurst, both long term employees of the ABC and long term members of the club.
Condolences to the Mcveigh family:(
PS Thanks to all the opposition supporters posting on this thread, sometimes things transcend football and put life into perspective, your posts are heartwarming and I'm sure the Swans appreciate the support.

Terrible to hear the news. My deepest condolences and wish the McVeigh family all the best from here on out.

Sincere sympathy to Jarrad and his wife on the tragic loss of their first born child. An Angel in heaven now, free from suffering.

Re: McVeigh (Aka McSexy)

You know when Spangher went off injured on Sunday, Macca sprinted from a distance to pat him on the back for putting his body on the line. It struck me then and it strikes me even harder now that a guy with that much going in his life outside of Footy still had the mettle and leadership in him to keep rallying his troops last Sunday. All the best Jarrrad - time to be with your Family.

Devastating news! My thoughts and prayers are definitely with the McVeigh's and their families.

R.I.P little Luella McVeigh :(

The Swannies will lift this weekend for Jarrad. Poor Jarrad :(

To the guys wondering how or why he continued to play whilst this was happening, it probably would of been the only thing keeping him going. Keeping his mind of the crap that was happening in his real life. His on field brothers at the club probably helped him out more than we all realise through this time.

I just cannot imagine the amount of the pain the McVeigh family is going through at the moment. My thoughts go out to the family and I hope the pain that they are feeling allows them to gather strength later on. Sometimes life is just terribly cruel at times and this really places football into perspective. RIP baby Luella McVeigh.

Hi all, I know both mark and jarrad and happened to see jarrads father this morning on my way to work and had a quick chat. he said Jarrad and Clementine are doing good (well as good as they can).
I can't imagine what they are going through but I'm sure they appreciate all the well wishes

just terrible news. I feel very sorry for Jarrad and his wife. You would think footy would seem pretty pointless after going through this.

2nd tragedy to befall the club in as many weeks (the 1st being the death of the mother and father from Albion Park before the Richmond game).

Incredibly sad news.

It is impossible to even try to imagine how to cope with such a tragic loss.

It certainly puts everything into perspective and I hope for Jarrad McVeigh and his wife that they will have the strength, privacy and support they need.

Hi guys - not sure if anyone has a line in to the club - but just a suggestion

Would be great if every player, umpire, coach in the AFL wore a pink armband this week as a sign of a life loved and lost and a football community in support for one of their own.

I know black is the traditional colour - but for an angel too soon departed, pink seems so much more apt.
