Wazzas v Las Vegas Bears at Van Cortlandt Park
Gatorade fun was had.
Well it's official. #thestreak is on.
In our last home game of a 2 game stretch at the VCP to kick off the season, we opened our account with a hard fought 20 point win over the plucky Bears.
In what was a seesawing contest, a 7 goal to 1 first quarter was not enough to put away the undefeated Bears, as having surrendered the lead in the third quarter, it took a last quarter surge to finally overpower the Las Vegas outfit, and register our first win for Season 28.

In an old school shoutout, recruit BEEG battled Bear spearhead Itsmanbearpig all day, as both full forwards turned back the clock and took turns putting on a show. The pair combined for 16 between them, ending up on 8 goals apiece. BEEG (11 touches, 8 goals) just taking the chocolates, finishing with 8.3 in a best afield performance, in his best game for the club to date. Wooshette's (31 disposals, 7 marks, 2 goals) huge season goes from strength to strength, as she topped all players on the ground for possessions and gave us immense run all day from the wing. candiehappy's (28 disposals, 11 marks) another having a sensational start to the season, and the S25 best and fairest winner helped us to wrestle ascendancy from the Bears with the game in the balance, ably supported by mids and club leaders pantskyle (20 touches) , harry000 (17 possessions, 1 goal) and TiF (27 touches, 11 tackles).
comewhatmay (12 hitouts, 16 touches, 2 goals) broke even in the stoppages, despite giving up possession around the ground, but gave our mids plenty of opportunity to get to work and hit the scoreboard in a great all round game. It was a case of on for young and old, veterans Freofalcon (23 touches, 8 marks) and PackedLunch (21 disposals, 1 goal) found timely form as they race towards 150 games and life membership at the club, and rookies Dinsdale (16 touches, 12 marks, 1 goal) & debutant Square Peg (12 touches, 1 goal) threatened up forward, Dinsdale plucking down a season high 12 marks in his best game for the club, as the forward pair allowed BEEG to go to work.

This week, we're out on the road, as we head to Mt Buller to take on the Demons at the Snow Dome. Having finished 1 & 2 in the home and away season in S27, the game threatens to be a blockbuster. We've got the wood on the Dees this season, having bested them in the People's Grand Final exhibition match in the pre season.

Wazzas v Mount Buller Demons at Snow Dome
Us on Sunday.
So, just to be clear, when I said last week '#thestreak is on', I obviously meant losing.
Our nemesis the Mount Buller juggernaut defeated us once again, making it 6 defeats in a row now between us as the Demons once again had our measure.
In a game of two halves, the Demons overcame a 46 point deficit early in the 3rd quarter, to run over the top of us and cruise to 24 point victory.
The loss takes our record to 1-3 for the season, and leaves us just outside the eight in 9th place.

Why weren't the Swampies decent? Why didnt we win? Why so much AFL banter? Why did we have to ****ing draw?
Why?
Well, we split the points with the Rats after a last minute goal from Kabanna levelled the scores and secured us two points, snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat.
The draw sees us leap into the eight for the first time this season, 2 points clear of the Gumbies.
