Willo asked to be traded..it was either a one year contract with us, or a three year contract with the scum..He has family to consider,what would you do?He also didn't want to travel every day to Waverley from Newport for training. He is securing his future, I wish him all the best, even if it is with the scum. He has been a terrific player for us, when in his prime, and he still has something left to give. Thanks Willo for all the memories, especially that fantastic goal you kicked in the 3rd qtr in GF..You will always remain a Hawk in our hearts!!

this is just what I'm saying things have not gone our way there was no way of knowing Jolly wanted to return home before we promised SB we woul;d get him. And then there was no way we were gonna know about Robbie Campbell retiring. And then Port has eaten away all our trade time to get another ruckman.

Trade week has just been an absolute disaster for us.

I think you are totally wrong, SB left Port stated he wanted to go to Hawthorn, what happened he lands up at Hawthorn.

Jolly says he is leaving Sydney for Collingwood, what happened, he landedd up at Collingwood.

Are you seriuosly thinking that every player in the AFL is desperate to play at Hawthron and had we chased after Jolly he would have chosen us over the Pies.

Also you are totally wrong in saying we don't need another midfielder, did you not watch what happened last year when Clinton Young was injured and Bateman had a bad day, or was injured?

I think 2 first round picks is a bit over the top . I think hawthorn put all there eggs in one basket. Only time will tell i suppose.

I know its all speculation, but Essendon have done pretty well if theyve wrangled 24, 26, a 30s pick AND Williams for just 16 and Nash.

Will be interested to see it all in writing....hopefully in a couple hours time to see whats really going where.

I posted this earlier today

Burgoyns management have given Hawthorn a 10.00am deadline to have the deal done, not being worked on, but done or he will go to Essendon.

Port have been advised to do a deal with Essendon immediately after the deal falls through or after 10.00am tomorrow.

Once Burgoyne gave you the ultimatum you lost all your bargaining power.

The real winners in this deal are Essendon, they played it very very smart but you get a very good player at his best.

I think some of you guys underate how good he is but he wasn't cheap.

This rumoured fourth club involved worries me a bit. I really hope we don't have to send a Kennedy or a McGlynn to Sydney and then forward the resultant pick to Port or Essendon as well.

Shaun Burgoyne had better be a great player for our club.

The fact is that the hawks needed 3 players and we have got two of them.

1. We absolutely need another classy outside runner - enter Burgoyne
2. We desperately need an experienced defender - enter Gibson
3. Yes we need a ruckman and this has not been addressed yet.

To get Jolly we have to miss out on one of the others. How did the cats premiership line go - 2 out of 3 aint' bad.

I still have faith in Clarko and the crew. They delivered a premiership last year and we are primed to deliver another one.

I just got terrible deja vu from last year when the hawks spent all their time and efforts to get O'Keefe and neglected getting a desperatly needed tall defender instead relying on tom murphy.

at least this time, they got their man and it was all not for nothing.

Hope to god that means Kennedy will stay a Hawk.

Exactly.

It'll all be in the detail. I can't really see any club really coming out way on top in this sort of deal.

It puzzles me how Richmond fit in though. Unless it's a tacked-on part of the deal to upgrade draft picks.

Too simplistic CH, if and its a BIG IF the hawks chased ROK last year, they didn't only do that, the trade week team can do more than 1 deal at a time. Hawks and Port did not spend 10 hours a day for 3 days with each other this week.
