It wont apply to elite sports.

You cant discriminate due to age in mainstream employment. We do in AFL.

WHS laws are applied differently in contact sports as well.

And I would suggest there is clauses in all contracts that basicallt states selection is earned not a given and the employee will be required to perform close to their highest level in order earn kpi bonuses.

The lawyers would have covered off on this. Its what they do.

This argument has already been argued to death and beyond. But go off.

That depends on how many picks before 36 are used to pay for the bids.
Plus we don’t actually know at this stage how many FA picks there will be could be more than 3 quite easily.

There will be two father son picks and probably 4 to 5 academy picks before pick 36. Walter,Read,Rodgers, Cleary, McCabe, Croft and maybe McCormack.

You would think the Suns would have to chew a few picks before pick 36.

I have 6 players being bid on before 40 and likely 3 compensation picks and maybe, a tight maybe on an end of first round priority pick for North which sets WCE up for one next year in that spot.

However if North get access to pre-list Sanders instead of a compo that lowers the number by 1.

With the picks that get chewed up before our 36 and 38 atm I think those WCE picks stay in roughly that position.

Collard is a talent but i'm not overly fond of his attitude (haven't interviewed him) on field, on the bench and at games. TBH even with his talent if we were to take 2 out of 3 NGA's this year (assuming we keep Baker and Dewar) I would take Livingstone and Hine-Baston instead.

I don't think Livingstone will be a star but think he is an AFL level talent and can be that aggressive hulking FF that brings the ball to ground. He's a good mark and kicks well. Jack Williams continuing to show more than expected may see the club have less interest but it's my position on him.

Hine-Baston whilst an overager is an October 04 kid and is a bit of a late developer. He has a lot of AFL qualities but it's not a flashy position. I think he can make a very good lockdown small defender and his kicking in my mind is a significant upgrade on the players we have on the list that we have used in that specific small lockdown role. If he wasn't an over-ager I think he would be on the top 40 cusp. As he plays for Perth I have met him a few times and have seen him play a fair few times. No fuss is how I would put him but could be a late gem.

Clay Hall is a good player and I thought he would rise in the rankings throughout the champs and whilst he played well his kicking and decision making at the next level up (mind you in a poor WA team) was at a standard lower than I expected. I thought he would be a big riser through to end of late first round or early second but he could now be an option for one of those picks at 36/38 if he has what the club is looking for. The big question is with a few years in the system can he develop further and play the way he has at Colts level at AFL or will he be one of those mids who has an amazing WAFL career but is never quite AFL quality. He sure as shit has an amazing attitude and can get the ball. I have him more as a winger at AFL level than an inside player. (this is probably due to my mantra now that all players on ground have to be able to win 1vs1 contests, run, carry and compete)

If Barrass is to go I still think it's possible to get Sydney's first and 2 second rounders for him if the club pays a significant part of his contract / does that and or potentially creates an extra second round compo pick for Sydney on Melican. It's my understanding Tom McCartin is fine to continue playing but with not only him suffering a couple of concussions but his brothers career being wiped by them they aren't certain on him as a long term player. That and he's quite undersized as a KPD.

Only way the Suns don't need picks under 35 to pay for its nga kids is on draft night they trade out their 1st and both 2nds for a dozen picks over 35 or they go into deficit.

Can only take to the draft the number of picks you have list spots open. Then again could be a big cull at the Suns with a change of coach. However to date the feeling has been they won't be opening up 6 spots to go to the draft with.

If we were looking at Hine-Baston then Brodie Ryan should be in the conversation.

I’d like us to have a crack at Cleary and at least make the swans pay for him. Very unlikely we get him. He’s the best inside bull in the draft and something we need. I think he’s underrated for the role he plays.

If we went another tall I’d rather it be an actual tall. We have 3-4 200cm blokes already we need an actual big Ruck prospect in the 205+ category.

We already have a (proven) Hine-Baston clone in Jones. I don't know about late bloomer as he played colts all last year and was decent enough. I would only consider him as a rookie though I suspect we would try and turn him into a fwd pocket.

Clay Hall is interesting, kind of seems the epitome of a vanilla🍦 mid. You're spot on that he's worth a shot mid draft and at 36 would be a bargain.

If TB goes we are getting maybe a pair of 2nd rounders at best. Use 1 and bundle the other to get up into the teens.

I don't think Livingstone gets drafted at this stage, he's going to need to play purely forward for the rest of the season to show he can play forward to be a chance.
I know he kicked 6 recently in colts, but at the champs he wasn't great.
200cm+ and is versatile is the selling point. I think he is better forward than ruck and could turn out something like a poor man's Peter Wright. Depending where clubs rate their players but i'd jump at the chance to rookie him.

West Coast won’t let Barrass go for a couple of 2nd rounders FFS

I don’t think anyone would be happy with TB for two second Rounders. If no other players are involved you would think a pick from 10-15 as minimum or the Swans future 1st and something. Otherwise I’d rather the club keep TB and drive him till he’s finished. I guess it does come down to salary compensation for him too and how much the Eagles are paying.

Delusional pearler from the Hawks board

Got some mail this evening, verified with a couple of the more connected posters here, that Hawthorn have made it very clear to the WA clubs that Brockman is a required player who is very happy to stay, that will only be discussed if they are willing to offer a top 10 pick in return.

Good news.

Let us know how that works out for you guys 😂
