Will just get the 1 top ten pick if that happens, although, I will be curious if we were to win the spoon next year whether we will be in line for draft compensation akin to North's.
Would be two spoons and 3 years of being absolute trash (bottom 2).
We'd get Champion for free like North.

Can't see the need for Dev Robertson if we have Reid, Hewitt and Ginbey.
Why not get a hard working defensive mid who can't crack a premiership contenders midfield?

Especially if we get him cheap .

4 year deal ? Jury is still out on that one

Our midfield especially defensively running midfielders are our biggest weakness

Seeing gov get absolutely destroyed by walker last night makes me realise just how important it is that we are keeping Barrass!
McGovern has never been good 1 on 1 .

Even in his AA years he was intercepting with barrass and Schofield being that Number 1 lock down defender .

We also had a midfield that applied a lot more pressure with the ball coming in long and high.

The stand rule has ruined zone defence

If they do the draft in 2 nights that pick 19 (1st pick in the second round) would hold some additional currency as well.

A long way to go between now and then. Fair chance someone that is rated in the top 10-15 will slide to that pick. Could have a decent bid come in for that.

Question: where is all this talk of "Norf are getting picks 2 & 3" coming from?

The AFL are corrupt but they arent going to flagrantly compromise the draft in such as way. At best the roos are looking at an end-of-first-round compo pick.

Didn't you hear, Norf are sending their super special members emails about it already

A 33yr old Taylor Walker kicking 19 goals in the 2 games he played against us this year kinda highlights our defense needs a bit of work.

I appreciate the fact the crows walked it in with zero pressure, particularly in that 4th quarter which wouldn't have helped McGovern, but he was still soundly beat.

Just like Barrass also had his pants pulled down by Curnow at Floptus earlier in the year to the point Simpson refused to even make that matchup happen and put him on McKay instead.

The next gen KPD for us (thought to be Bazzzo but his stocks took a bit of a hit this year, unsurprising given what he endured) is going to have to be on the agenda soon.

I still think defense is a team thing though, finding a gun new KPD is less important than getting a system to support our defense so it's rarely 1 out and exposed like it was throughout this entire year. We made spud forwards look like Modra and good forwards look like Dunstall

Non shirtless Dev was exposed for the vanilla fraud he is last night.

Still target. But I'd be offering 3 years at most, not 4, and still only a throwaway 3rd round pick.

If anything, his 7 touches at 57DE% with 4m gained from 69% game time did us a favour.

It showed us the lions still refuse to give him proper stints on ball. How's that feel Dev? Also hurt his value even more at the trade table with us.

All this without Ashcroft even playing.

Don’t think we’ll get much better then Dev or Brockman with our picks in the 30’s (which become 40+) so happy to use them.

Not sure in what world we now think we have enough mids. Dev is young enough to fit our needs and absolute worst case, not bad to have that depth so there’s a bit of pressure for spots. The fact he plays with passion/has a crack is good enough for me these days

I'm very comfortable with getting better players in the 30's.

Collard id take over Brockman today, while we need more damaging players than Robertson and those are available in that range. Speculative yes, but that is all upside on what Deven has shown.

Dev has proven he can accumulate possession as an inside at 2s. People say ginbey takes his position is nonsense. He hasn't shown he can accumulate possession in the 2s let alone in the mid.

Dev was a larke medalist winner

The level of overlap outside the top 6 players in this draft group is low. Every club will have a pick rated in their top 15 available at 19.

McGovern could be good one on one, he’s just doesn’t want to play as a lockdown defender and won’t.

None of those three are guaranteed. A shitload of potential, and most likely will make it but not guaranteed.

Dev is depth, young and can swap with Culley/Ginbey as that defensive midfielder.

And a token pick in the 40’s/50’s it’s nothing to lose.

Starting to look like we have to turn 19 into something a bit higher to nab Ollie Murphy.
Otherwise there is that big young kid from Claremont (Zane Z) but no idea if he's a good lockdown defender.

Hello and pardon the interruption.

First congratulations on the great send off given your retiring three champions. You folks produced a great crowd in their honour.

I am writing not about your 1st Rounder but your position in the PSD.

Ben McKay is a more than useful one on one KPD and is mid 20s. He has been treated poorly by his Club who are more interested in a compo pick.

I reckon your mob are well placed to walk Ben to West Coast via the PSD with a decent offer. A further benefit would be stuffing Norf’s cynical bid for a magic beanz compo pick.

All the best and stuff #V#VICBIAS

Don’t want him but would love it to happen just so north don’t get pick 3
