Some insurance companies do let you pick your own mechanic. Mine does.
It's in clubs interest to get you working to peak efficiency as soon as possible.

I don't agree with it.

If you picked a mechanic in Dubai, they might balk at picking up the whole bill.

We don’t know who arranged the trip to Dubai or who’s idea it was

We don’t know how much it costs

We don’t know if the players are incorporating holidays elsewhere either before or after the trip

We don’t know how much the players are contributing personally or whether they asked the club to help or the club offered to assist

All things that are relevant to the discussion that make forming an opinion on the fairnesss or otherwise of the players paying part of the cost near impossible

However , the fact they’re going would indicate they are relatively happy with the arrangements

Let’s just hope all three get some benefit from the trip

North get pick 4 from GC then we send North H Edwards and Rotham to address their defence issues as well as pick 20 and F2.

So not sure if it's been discussed but North just dropped Jacob Edwards who was the number 1 mid season rookie ruck from a couple of years ago. Article says he never played a game for them but that's behind Golstein and Xerri and as a 20 or 22 year old ruck I wouldn't have thought had really even started to show his potential.

Could be another good ruck potential given how young. Not sure we need another project ruck though.

At the Pioneers B&F tonight the top four vote getters were all underagers.

1st - Tobie Travaglia (DOB 26-10-2006; height: 187cm, weight: 72kg)




Equal 2nd - Tom Evans (DOB 22-02-2006; height: 180cm, weight: 71kg)



Equal 2nd - Jobe Shanahan (DOB 02-08-2006; height: 192cm, weight: 80kg)




Both Tobie and Jobe are playing in the U17s curtain raiser on Saturday.

Also Archer Day-Wicks (DOB 13-05-2006; height: 185cm, weight: 82kg) came fourth.






He is also playing in the curtain-raiser.

Tom Evans particularly was impressive, coming 2nd in the B&F despite only playing about 6-7 games this year.
Finished off the season against Geelong kicking 4 goals from the midfield in the Wildcard round.
If he grows a bit he'll be right amongst it next season.

It's all a moot point anyway.
If first pick of day 2 becomes #27, nobody will trade up for it. You generally don't throw the kitchen sink at pick #27, nor would you want to slide back any further by trading down as the talent is really starting to thin out by this point.

Maybe, maybe not. Clubs would have removed Academy and F/S picks from their thinking and focused on the 20-30 most likely candidates. There's bound to be a kid or two that one club rates highly around 19, regardless of whether it's the actual 27th pick.
