If it goes bad, then it will absolutely have an impact (its going to go bad).

In my job in WA I get to see the daily Sitrep reports on caronavirus. It is now infecting more people out of China than it is in China. If it starts spreading widely in Australian cities, which seems pretty inevitable, then it will impact crowds without doubt.

Genetic testing is now suggesting that caronavirus has been spreading within the US for as long as a month without anybody being aware. So this genie has well and truly escaped the bottle, and there is no putting it back.

just the economic hardships brought about by the virus is going to affect attendances.

Who knows how the government is going to act when it spreads. there might not be a match to attend to in the first place. it doesn't take much for people to stay away if they fear(rightly or wrongly) their life.

Pretty sure there is no mass sport going on in Wuhan

pretty sure nothing is going on in Wuhan. No j-league in Japan. Italy soccer matches have either been cancelled matches or played among closed doors. the Swiss have banned any gathering over 1,000 people. No Moto GP round in Qatar or Thailand.

the next months as a sports fan(or any event with a large number of people) is going to really suck if governments and sports governing bodies keep canceling events. which sucks cause if/when I get it, the thing I want to do is watch sport on the tellie in bed.

Im due to head to Thailand at the end of this month for a 3 week trip. Going to now change the date which sucks. Given I will mow be in Melbourne I will spending my weekends attending the games

Love it, people who read a few articles arguing with people who read a few different articles and both acting like experts. Hilarious.

I'm hoping the virus can be quite selective in who it hits hardest

Love it when people who have zero idea of the background of others make assumptions about the source of their knowledge.

That you actually hope this virus hits anyone hard should signal to you that you’re a bit of a sick puppy.

More incorrect information. Young and healthy with no pre-existing conditions have died.

Given the deaths are mostly elderly with significant comorbities I wouldn’t have a problem. The covid19 has a reported death rate of 2%. But how many cases have been missed because people are either minor symptoms or are asymptomattic. The rate is likely to fall, possibly to the same as the flu. Does the flu stop anyone?

WOW, 82,000 people out of 7,767,084,002 at last count are infected. Talk about unlucky, i think i'll take my chances i will run into the 7,767,002,002 that are not infected.

Nothing like a minor pandemic to get the world in a panic.

12 million people in Wuhan and 2 months later only 80 000 infected. That's not even 1% of Wuhans population.

Doesn't change the fact it doesn't need to spread. I've never traveled overseas once in my life. Imagine how I feel about all these careless pricks bringing it here. Then one of them seeing 40 people over 15 minute face to face appointments lol. She may as well be the virus

How cute, believing that's the actual figure.

I'm relying on micro evolution to save me. Like with SARS it's only the east Asian areas that will get hammered. UK US AND AUS/NZ = always sweet. Just with residents of machu picchu have evolved a higher lung capacity over the years (because the air is thinner) I suspect there will be micro-evolutionary differences in us not eating bats, monkeys and civet cat feaces for the last few thousand years. Maybe that's why people in the East Asian region have x5 ACE2 expression than other groups.

Wow. This is a really dumb post. Can’t be arsed correcting you on all of your simplifications and lack of facts. You’re grown up enough to work it out if you can be bothered ...
It's because i don't care, all you nervous nellies can stay cooped up in your air tight houses shitting your pants you don't get the sniffles and not interact with anyone ever again while I'm going to enjoy living my life.
