Could the Pies beat Geelong next week?......I'd say with the current two sides Geelong and Collingwood have that the Pies would win once in about every three games and thats what the odds will reflect......
Yes Cats are deserving fav's but i wouldn't be backing them at the short odds they have looked beatable in both night prelim.finals comming off the break....
Collingwood are no mugs

i rate geelong as next best chokers after adelaide so were definaely in with a good shot . 1st quarter will tell all , if were in front we will win

what a moron...pull your head in....your playing a side who has played in the last two grand finals and won 19 games this year.
We eat sides like Collingwood who think they can take us on...for breakfast!
Unfortunately you couldnt beat the dogs, so we had to show you how it was done!
We dont lay hacks like Leigh Brown or Alan Toovey or Shane O'Bree!
We're a 10 goal better side!

concur, dogs and cats are bigger threats to our chances this year than the pies.

saints will ratchet it up again in the prelim against the dogs, the cats found it hard to put the dogs down though they won comfortably enough at the end.

The cats, rested and experienced will be too much for the pies, however Should we beat the dogs adn the pies beat the cats, then IMO its the best outcome for the saints.

Make up your mind, you obviously allow for the possibility by saying if so I guess you can answer your own question

To say that we won't and to say that it is possible are two different things.
Really, based on the season and our two wins against the dogs, that suggests we should win, yet it's possible that we could lose.
You say we won't win, any reason for that observation other than hope?

Collingwood have had two chances to beat Geelong since Round 9, 2008 - the NAB Cup final and Round 3 this year, and failed both times. Surely if Collingwood are a better side now than they were back then, and Geelong aren't as good, surely you'd have handed our arses to us on both occasions like you did that night.
Collingwood has played Geelong only once since then. The Practice Match Cup Final doesn't count of course because Mick Malthouse wasn't even the coach that night. Brad Scott was and he is now the coach of North Melbourne. I feel that Collingwood is better now than they were last year, and I feel that Geelong was better last year than they are now, so we'll now see if that's enough for Collingwood to win next Saturday night.

I agree with all of this, but if others don't then that's fine. I thought it would be difficult to beat such a red hot team as Adelaide this week, particularly as Collingwood had been so poor against the Western Bulldogs and played their worst game of the season against St.Kilda last week.

As far as I am concerned, Collingwood were done during the second quarter and had very little chance of winning. They were 31 points down without Pendlebury and were playing after a six day break compared to Adelaide's eight day break despite finishing lower on the ladder. The bookies were offering around $7.00.

Then again during the last quarter when Adelaide regained the lead twice, and the last time with a just a couple of minutes left. We were beaten, but were able to unbelievably get over the line with less than a minute left. As far as I'm concerned anything from this point in time is a bonus, even though I'm sure the club and the players are not feeling that way.

No way, almost impossible.

Chapman is the player i fear the most, unless he does his hammy real early, impossible, even if that happens we would only be a tiny chance.

And if we somehow miracle against Geelong, the GF would be ****en boring as hell.
We would get smashed.
I would rather see Saints vs Geelong in the GF.

Geelong had the weeks break before prelims in '07 and '08 and I think it really hurt them, they lost momentum and struggled.

This year I think it's just what they needed.

Geelong in a canter.

Only if Medhurst, Davis, Cloke click. People always underestimate the Pies but they're not such a bad team. You have to admire their youth always having a go. To date Medhurst and Davis have done nothing during the finals so unless they step up Geelong are certainties. Not sure if they're to blame as the ball didn't go into the 50 very often against StKilda or the Crows as it has all year. Anything can happen on the day we all know that.

That is the type of win ala in Sydney in 2005 (against Geelong) that makes you believe anything is possible.

I don't have to.. you've won a single flag in 112 years.. over the long haul you are a joke.. if you really want to talk about wins take a guess who has won more games than any other club in history and has the greatest win rate over 112 years.. take another guess who is the most famous club in Australia.. so make another video and call it the streak 2.. but don't ever think you'll be respected as a club.. I sat at the MCG and watched my club usher in the modern era by winning the very first AFL premiership

Same amount of flags in the last 50 years, your fantastic history didn't mean a damn thing last week, as it won't next week...

you seem to be very satisfied with the win last week? teams have lost in week 1 and gone on to be the premiers.. just as teams have won in week 1 qualifying final and not made the grand final...
