Re: Cousins suspended indefinitely

I doubt that anyone would question his skill or onfield performances.

But the 'message' sent when he shared the moment with Judd was widely seen as inappropriate at the time...............and even more so now.

Even my WCE loving mates and family thought it was a insult to Judd ...But goes to show Cousins beats to a different tune and thought and was above team rules for so long ...

Three Points.

1.The club will no doubt have a vague explanation, as all clubs would.

2. The club will probably not expand on the reasons unless its not the real reason.

3.The club wont sack him, he is one of their best players.

4. Will go in hard and suspend him until 7pm on March 31.

The spiritual leader

Why was he ever allowed on that stage.

Because he's one of the best players to ever play for the Eagles, he went a long way to helping WCE out a a late 90's early 00's slump.

He's mixed up with some wrong people, its unfortunate. He is also in the spotlight more then any other AFL player so he cant pick his nose in public without it being on the front page the next day. It makes it hard for him and WCE.

Just because WCE have suspended him doesn't mean the eagles have any more issues than any other club. Nor does it mean that there are any drug issues and there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. In fact Cousins suspension for this week-end underlines how seriously the eagles are tackling discipline issues. Every other club should follow the weagles example.
Any other argument to contrary can be shot down with one word 'score board!'

What game is being played this weekend again? And, it sure is good to see the how proactive the Eagles have been with disciplne over the years. Really impressed

The eagles midfield should be interesting in 12 months time with Judd in Melbourne,Kerr in jail and Cousins in rehab.. Who will line up to replace them ..:p :p

Re: Cousins suspended indefinitely

He might be a right twit off the field but anyone that questions his on field performace is just as big a twit.

Who questioned his on field performance.

He was described as the spiritual leader. A leader has to be a leader both on and off the field.

It is also rumoured that Chris Judd is not happy.

probably he was involved in the decision to suspend cousins. Judd is a no frills person and probably got sick and tired of cousins getting away with everything so maybe he used it as a threat as fix cousins or im off.

Getting away from all the rumoured reasons the club can suspend him for a few weeks ie 3-4 and blame it on the failure to attend a club event.

Nothing else needs to be said because the last chance saloon can be for training

Over in Sydney we're all smiling as wide as the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It's about time that the arrogance and unacceptable behaviour of certain WC Eagles players was dealt with.

See you in 11 days Ill-eagles. We can hardly wait for it over here in Sydney.

WCE Statement: Cousins

The West Coast Eagles have today suspended Ben Cousins indefinitely after he failed to attend training yesterday.

Ben has failed to fulfill his commitments as a professional member of the West Coast Eagles team to such a degree that his current situation is untenable. When Ben has addressed his ability to commit to the required level, his situation will be reviewed.

It is with great sadness and regret that the club has been forced to take this action against a much-loved champion who has served this club with great distinction for more than a decade.

Chairman Dalton Gooding will be available for comment this morning at 10.15am outside the players' entrance at Subiaco Oval.

Poor bugger he can't control what goes into his own gob!! It's not his fault - it's the West Australian Newspaper. Their shooting the victim etc etc etc etc ad infinitum ad absurdum
