One of my closest mates is now one of those conspiracy fuelled antivaxxers.

I knew this would happen as he was anti-goverment, look into alternative therapies/medicines before covid was on the cards.

Now he has found 'god'...more like a group of people who subscribe to the same views who hide behind a spiritual being.

Im waiting for him to sprout a few Qanon conspiracies and spike my beer with bleach

The unfollow feature is good on Facebook if they start spouting that stuff on there.

That way you don't see there stuff pollute your news feed, but you still remain friends with them on there. They also don't see that you have effectively muted them.

Makes sense, delta and omicron have proven to be different beasts to alpha.

The best thing now is to keep jabbing while still being responsible citizens - masks, distancing where possible, washing hands etc - this may be around for some time yet. In retrospect - WA has done the best job in the world in managing COVID imo - change my mind.
We've done some successful things but also had a lot of luck. Have also had some big **** ups. Remember those multiple lockdowns earlier this year from hotel quarantine failures? The worst was when they kept using the Mercure hotel even when they were told it wasn't safe.

Overall, it has been good living here, but it also sounds like it was pretty good living in SA, QLD, TAS or NT. My concern moving forward is that our fragile hospital system mean we have much slack for the next phase, but we'll have to work that out as we go.

I think the govt should review those foreign vistors not respecting our law and their visa status.
Poor pricks had just been told Xmas and new year was cancelled. No harm in having a party among those who were all quarantining together.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them were Aussie kids too. Doubt there's many European back packers still in WA that haven't found more permanent accommodation after 2 years of border closures.

Media trying hard to demonize the "foreigners that brought in COVID"

It was going to happen one way or another
Do you respect our law?

Also we all have to die one day (whether due to "old age", "illness" or "accident" (one way or another). That does not mean we have to deliberately make it happened quicker.
I do believe that anyone deliberately causing harm or ill health to others is illegal. (spreading Covid virus prematurely could be a bad example).

Another bad example.

Well you said it

"It is understood the man, who has spent months away from his family, was struggling with his mental health and suffering from a panic attack when he allegedly left the room."

Jesus what a monster

Exactly.
Should we help him to unite with his family by sending him back to his family (reviewing his visa status help him and the Australian public) rather than allowing him running around to do the unlawful acts endangering the innocent public?
Laws are there to protect us as Australian public.
What exactly are you promoting?

He is hardly causing a risk to anyone.. theres no confirmation he even has covid.. this complete over the top reaction and fear mongering is completely out of proportion to what danger he has allegedly caused.. …

Have you read the article?

"Police claim Mr Ghamri threatened to damage property and harm security staff and obstructed and resisted officers, yelling abuse at them when they attended his room to place him under arrest."

Yeah he was in his room… so after trying to get down to the foyer or whatever he returned to his room… he wasn’t out on the main street running amok and kissing everyone in sight…

If the bloke was suffering from a panic attack and has mental health issues I’m sure a posey of security and cops coming at him would likely set him off further…. Again he is hardly a danger to you.

You are not there and not even a resident of our state, how on earth you can judge our police is not doing the right thing and do you know how to understand the following statement:
"Police claim Mr Ghamri threatened to damage property and harm security staff and obstructed and resisted officers, yelling abuse at them when they attended his room to place him under arrest."

Good argument, you weren’t there so how would you know… well you weren’t there either.. talk about a straw man argument ….

Ok you want him deported because he makes you scared and worried.. what a life you must lead.

True, I am not there and there is no reason why we are allowed to make things up other than to discuss what has happened based on the reports of the article.

Says the guy who spends a significant amount of his time arguing about the pandemic policies of a state on the other side of the country to him, on a football forum

I hope these people know that the Wile E Coyote logic if ‘if I don’t look down, I won’t fall from the cliff’ doesn’t actually work in real life.

If you don’t check in somewhere, but contract Covid from there, you still get Covid.
