Has anyone been following the Canberra convoy protests? Some sovereign citizen minded people protesting the mandates.

One of the highlights so far has been the lack of planning which saw them bring only one portaloo. It then of course broke, so they were then forced to start using a nominated person's trunk for their number twos :poo:

Is this facebook group for the poo?

The rule, or the rumour? Because I have had no problems with my cotton mask and I flew only a few months ago. I haven't heard anything about particular masks being banned at the airport.
I flew within WA this week and cotton mask was fine. Only places I've been that required otherwise have been the hospital and BHP sites.

If grandma is vaccinated, the stats presented here from NSW and Vic show she only has 0.01% chance of ending up in ICU (and that doesn't even take into account the 90% of people aren't even aware they have it).
He got the stat from my typo . 0.1 % is the number of positive cases ending up in ICU I typed 0.01 % initially before correcting . The non vaxxers testing positive is 1.5% ending in ICU . As reported on ABC News app.

You can do whatever WA Health have told you to. I'm just relaying what I've been told by my brother who works at a hospital in Melbourne re: the 5 days.

That's why the 14 day iso is crap for omicron. If you haven't got it by day 7 you haven't got it at all.
Nurses testing positive in Perth going back to work after 7 days and still testing positive They just wear PPE .

I'm talking about being negative. If you have been exposed and test negative on day 5 you won't suddenly test positive to omicron in the days after, unless you've been freshly exposed. So the 14 days is a bit of a piss take and carried over from the early Covid days.

Can't comment on testing positive and how long you'll continue to show signs or be positive.

Yeah I am fairly sure - as usual - that Smotie is touting complete BS or at the very least using selective misinformation.

China has been subject to some of the most draconian restrictions in the world for COVID control since it began.

I'll respond to this one because you're calling me out for touting bullshit "as usual". I call you out on the bullshit line regarding my comments.
I have opinions like everyone else regarding football and regarding the Eagles who I support, opinions that aren't always right just like yourself and any others here.
I don't post shit I don't know about and make sweeping statement declaring facts when I don't know them.

So your comment is bullshit.

As usual you are part of the main stay crew here who go along with the common view and discredit as much as possible those who disagree with the common view.

I did have a conversation with a friend (not a cousin's, brothers aunties friend as someone else tried to imply) who lives in China and has married a Chinese lady there and has been living in Chongqing for the last 5 or 6 years.

I asked how restrictions were going there and he said he lives a free life for the most part. The only thing I will correct from my initial statement is he said masks were required on public transport and in hospitals so my apologies for implying otherwise.

Other than that he has stated to me that they are not experiencing any lockdowns and he is unvaccinated and doesn't have any restrictions as a result.

I am not going to screenshot my conversation to post here because even that would be futile to try and prove my conversation with a friend who exists and it's a personal conversation.

Take those facts as you will...and probably call them to be bullshit again but I really don't care what a bunch of self opinionated self proclaimed gurus think is bullshit or not on a footy forum

Enjoy your day.

My Chinese friends and family have had to comply with vaccination and mask mandates, and lockdowns are still deployed in China. Even in areas with ostensibly no COVID at all, masks were required in places like public transport. Most notably, the major city of Xi'an was subject to incredibly harsh restrictions including the requirement for masks indoors at all times - no exceptions.

Where is your Chinese friend located?
I already addressed that.

If a place was to experience an outbreak, a lockdown would be deployed. Your friend in Chongqing would have that if omicron was to pop up there.

In any event, many were challenging your implication that China - of all places - is the one of the most freest places to live in and saying that the leader of WA is more dictatorial than the Chinese one. That is the one baffling point.

You don't want the truth because deep down in paces you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that border -- you need me on that border.

We use words like "get vaccinated", "get tested", "isolate". We use these words as the backbone of a life spent crushing the virus. You use them as a punch line.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very protection from COVID that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it.

What a great analogy and hopefully mcgowan gets the same treatment as this full it's colonel got in the movie, and hopefully sooner rather than later.

I never suggested that china was one of the freest places to live so again you're touting bullshit, what I DID suggest albeit in a sarcastic quip was "wa was more like China than...china"

And my comments were directed to you know...the covid situation and what restriction we had versus China, albeit in this province.

I'm quite aware china is a communist country and that our lives are infinitely far better off than they would be living in China so spare me the bullshit trying to implicate me in suggesting otherwise and if you can't interpret comments about things in context of where they are typed...like in a covid thread about covid and the implications on our lives collectively then maybe stop replying to people.

Again I say...stop the bullshit.

Well said.

I've been speaking to a friend who lives in China and right now is unvaxxed, moves around and goes where he wants. There's no restrictions, no mask mandates and they are more free than any of us right now.

McGowans mandating out of popularity not reality.

No point at all just political squeezing of the last 5% of the population.

You can just see that the staff are sick of doing it already .

What is interesting to me is that if basil couldn't get a sign off from the police department that 800 wardens were legal in asking for and viewing vaccination status at the Australia Day fireworks how is it even remotely legal for staff to ask for proof when going to have a coffee or going to the football.

It isn't and they are relying on the good will of people to comply.

What they can do legally is refuse entry if you don't show your status.

I'll say it again, if you can't interpret comments in context of a thread...and I'll say it again...a thread about covid and its implication on lives and freedoms...then I suggest you stop and delete your account.

I dunno, the comment seemed pretty clear to me, even if you I accept the claim that the context was only about COVID-justified restrictions on freedom.

shrug

Regarding deleting your account...

Well my apologies for not inserting covid the sentence and my apologies for assuming you are more intelligent than you are, I will in future allow for the less fortunate than myself and others in my comments.

Lol press, I liked you better when you didn't live at home in your mother's basement...😅

Oh yes I see what you mean , the incubation period if you test negative. Then 5 days later negative again then you don't have it . 👍

All I know is if McGowan continues down the lockdown of WA path the Eagles will be screwed because of it. The AFL won't allow these constant isolated periods if it can prevent it. The solution for them would be simple. Move The Eagles to a hub Eastern State until McGowan can come to his senses. This is potentially derailing our whole season because his being a coward and dictator. While the rest of the country become heard immune and free WA will become fort knox of Australia. In the end it's business and sporting organisation like the Eagles that will suffer from it.

I just think it's time to let those borders open throughout the whole country and once everyone's triple vaccinated which we all almost are then what's to worry about. Most in Victoria and Sydney are triple Vaccinated now. Catching Covid really is only minor symptoms to people triple Vaccinated. Less then the normal flu.
One person like 95 years old might be the only one struggling with it. But then again a 95 year old would struggle with just walking on a sunny clear day with no wind.

A friend of mine got it, we had dinner and a few drinks together, I got it 2 days later.
Yep. He’ll do a RAT test soon. Once that result comes in we’ll know for certain
