It didn't!

The investors referenced were the few that went in with $50 mil and above including Sequoia Capital (Google's investment arm) which backed them to the tune of $257US mil. :)
Lance was in a lot earlier than that. Story goes that he put $100k into a fund, Lowercase Capital, that was run by a pal, Chris Sacca. Lance didn't know anything about Uber, but Sacca got in when Uber was valued at $3.7m. Lowercase returned between 250 and 300 times!

Edit: oh and without this investment, Lance reckons he would have been truly trucked. "It saved my family".

Rafa Nadal has won 14 French Opens since Essendon last won a final.

If only I knew an Essendon supporter I liked to whom I could convey this stat.

The quality of your work lately has been outstanding.

2 of the coaches that work in my gym are mad Essendon fans. You can enjoy the sharing of this nugget vicariously through little-old-mois.

Update:

Haven’t won’t a final in 20 years, still lead the league in premierships

They're beginning to sound like Collingwood fans did a few decades ago. Must have cut deep. Good job Swipey.

Thanks - full disclosure: only passing on what I received from someone else, so feel free to share.

Disappointed to see that Entrecote announced they received a formal apology (what is the threshold that turns an apology formal?) from both parties, which they have accepted, and won't make further comment. Was really hoping for a bit more from them.

I'd consider an apology as "formal" if it was on record (written or filmed) and adequately thorough. Entrecote probably scored that plus a swag of free publicity.

Their dinner menu looks fine. How's that for free advertising? I would never have looked if it wasn't for the Melbourne brawlers.

They also lead the league in Brownlow Medal Returns.

Over-rated. It is a France-Soir for Dickheads.

Sounds like a great day jimmy.

I've been under the weather too but have so far tested negative to COVID, got my flu jab 3 weeks ago. NFI what ails me.

While couching around I watched "Super Pumped", a series about the early days of Uber. Not bad, not great. It's a solid 6.5/10.
Funnily enough I picked up my Covid a few days after getting my flu jab the other week. ‘Twilight zone music’

Had lunch at Entrecôte recently. Was very disappointed in the food. In fact all five of us were disappointed. Not that great and overpriced. Although the wine was good, and I liked the restaurant design.

While Melb players are boxing on at fancy restaurants, a bunch of our players (including the great and powerful JDG!) spent the day at Port Phillip Specialist School. Nice to be on the morally superior side for once!

I risk coming across as "caveman-like" as Swipey does when he refers to all mens fragrance as cologne, but French cuisine in general doesn't excite me.

The best I've had is Robechon's in Paris but for €700 (yes, Euro) to feed a family of 4 in 2013, you'd rightfully expect something half-decent. The family could have enjoyed 40 of the finest wood-fired Capricciosas for that amount of moolah.

Yikes!

I love good French bistro food, when well done it’s the best. No elaborate sauces, but beautifully prepared veggies, and maybe a steak or fish.

The food we had at Entrecôte was not this.

One of the worst takes in the history of this thread. Beef bourguinon, coq au vin, tarte tatin, I could go on forever.

You are dead to me. For a few minutes.
