Being linked to food I think there is a case for this to be discussed....
Below is the array of toothbrushes available in a popular supermarket - ridiculous if you ask me - it's not helping

According to this report Australia ranks at the bottom of the pile for dental health.

It's like the ridiculous range of different Panadol and Nurofen products - it's all just marketing spin and competing for shelf space.

Are you brushing it aside?
At a guess, current day Australia would have one of the best dental hygiene practices in the world.
We teach this in School.
Brush your teeth twice a day at minimum.

Thought this was a smart ad. Collingwood board.

That report is absolute bollocks.
I could give you 5 worse countries than these 5.

Same as most liveable cities in the world reports. Laughable
I could believe the Philippines makes this list but not sure about number 1. Find it hard to believe Australia at number 3 as it seems that fluoride in the water made all the difference to children's dental health and children with decayed teeth are rarely if ever seen. Perhaps FJ could provide a better list.

I only use Panadeine Forte sometimes broken down into Panadeine size. Ordinary pain killers have never touched the sides of pain I have experienced and my doctor gives me a script for 80 PFs at a time. There is only one kind to choose from unlike as you say a dazzling array of equally ineffective forms of the two brands you mentioned. But it's all about safety these days rather than buying something that actually works.

I liked the days when you could create a bit of humour out of just about anything. Edgier stuff was dark humour but still appreciated by many. If people choose to take offence they need to get thicker skins.
Perhaps, some posters may have relatives there and don't find it amusing.

Hard to have thick skin under those conditions.

According to some link probably associated with selling dental stuff to Australians...

If you want information, you need to go to researchers who are getting their funding from teeth-related corporations, rather than the actual teeth-related corporations. In short, aussie teeth are good...

Yeah mate, most SE Asian countries would be in or around the top 5. Although they are currently getting their act together.
Many African nations. Several European nations.

Phillipines deservedly in the list.
Myanmar
Vietnam
Africa, take your pick
Albania
The United States.

I'm probably still not even close..
Putting Australia in the list is ridiculous

I think Dan is actually running the Israeli response. Tight lockdown. Destroy the enemy at all costs even if the enemy is using civilians as cover. Dan's still disappointed that he wasn't allowed to bomb those North Melbourne apartment blocks.

shalom, sr, which roughly translates as "consider your future before you post"...

Fair enough but there's still too many types of toothbrush on supermarket shelves

well i'd argue that about most things in modern life. I actually like the Aldi approach. For example, I buy their only dishwashing liquid because it works. I assume that if it didnt work, they would tell the manufacturer to lift their game. I dont need a dozen brands in the supermarket. I need something that works and removes grease and continues to suds up. If I had the time and money and if consumer law had any balls, I would sue all the companies that provide watered down limp-wristed crap to wash my dishes with.

As for toothbrushes, I've got something with batteries...

The big issue in the US is that, if you don't have money, and lots of it, you're f**ked.
Even if you have health insurance, you're still up for big costs.

Only one poster objected and his username and posts suggest that he has no relatives there (I suspect he was as much concerned about the slight on Dan as anything else). Nevertheless I saw and see nothing amiss with the post.

I reckon the USA may well be thereabouts. Vietnam actually has very good dentists but not sure how their skills filter through the socio economic groups to the poor. But there is no way Australia is in the top 5.

Even here in Thailand mate. The amount of sugar consumed is incredible.
They had the UK as one of the best top 5 for healthy teeth.
Says it all.
