I’ve got no problem with kids who have applied for exemptions in particular cases.
Not a medical exemption and I wouldn't expect one. More of a social one which is hard for teens who might already be a bit awkward...

I think that’s reasonable grounds for asking for an exemption, I have a few not-necessarily-medically-reasoned and the masked kids don’t even ask or make comments about it.

Fair..

so the city of perth and the state government are starting a competition on friday 29th where to get people back to work in the city, they are placing cash qr codes round where people scan for a chance to win some big cash

i think this will coincide with the density and mask removing. im expecting mcgowan will announce these measures to be removed on thursday once hes out of quarantine

Baseline measures

12.01am Friday 29th April

Capacity lifted, no caps anywhere

No limit on stadiums

No more MASKS - PT/Ride Share/Hospitals still required 12 and over

60k can watch us get smashed by Richmond ... But with no masks!!!

The boos will be at maximum volume at least.

Also the measures make sense as our numbers in hospitals and ICU appear stable and there have been no major COVID disruptions to supply chains and most public events. We've officially gone to living with it and using sensible measures as it becomes endemic.

my prediction was earlier than expected. wouldve thought they wouldve waited for mcgowan to leave quarantine but nope.

Given that McGowan did not use his political exemption to visit parents in NSW during the entirety of the pandemic, and still served isolation anyway when he had to go interstate for the Palmer defamation case (even though the rules changed to no longer require isolation when he was away), you can never accuse him of being a hypocrite (unlike certain politicians, left or right) when following COVID rules.

Surely you'd give him credit for this one as well where he did not wait until his own recovery was complete before changing the rules.

Proof of vaccination gone too.

Why? its not up to kids to protect anyone... thankfully they are gone.
Staffing is pretty difficult at the moment, for a start. I know of several schools struggling to replace teachers who have left for various reasons for Term 2 onwards. This stretches internal resources pretty thin and leads to burn out pretty fast. Reliefs are pretty hard to find also. The more we can do to stop any spread among schools and teachers, the better. Ultimately a lack of continuity hasn't been beneficial for students, and it's what we need to aim for as much as possible going forwards. Hopefully the worst has passed and this can be achieved, masks or no masks. :thumbsu:

I know it can be contracted anywhere, but when you have 30 kids in a pretty small classroom with little understanding about personal space, it can feel a little like a ticking time bomb!

If you wanted to work as a relief teacher, at the moment you could have your pick of dozens of schools.

The new close contact rules will assist greatly in reducing the pressure, though. Seems like the government is counting on the worst of the wave to be over and thus absences at school to be manageable, eventually.

Just did a week of iso. Got symptoms on day 7 and tested positive this morning. So no Richmond belting for me..
Ahh man. That’s real tough. Mate get plenty rest, drink water and Panadol is handy

Got a trip to Spain in 3 weeks so happy to get it out of the way. Reasonably mild symptoms so far with panadol and nuetrofen doing the job mostly.

Not that short. Unemployed for months waving Pauline Hanson and Clive Palmer banners, clogging PerthNow, WAToday, Facebook, Twitter and this forum with their bullshit, suddenly going "You know what, I'm voting Labor now" because McLoWn will let them apply for jobs again? Nah.
