Here is old mate that got rocked doing an interview a while back

The real mystery here is how he doesn't get in a fight every week. Maybe this is why he was being filmed? I've got a Saints mate who's just told me he nearly got in a scrap with this bloke and another Hawks mate who reckons he's a famous dickhead with Hawks fans.

Was also filmed after the Saints game this year and was mouthing off at their fans. Enough people know he’ll hurl out enough crap and HawksTV were happy to have a lend of him on that occasion..

It’s pretty low bringing his disability into this which is obviously helping beef up the victim mentality. I’m not defending what the Demons fan has done but it’s probably best if this fan doesn’t attend Hawks matches either.

You can’t just go and knock drinks out of people’s hands.

Yeah not ok too hit people, and disabled he may be, but sorry he is bright enough to know you don’t slap people’s beers out of there hands.

Needs a good kick up the arse from whoever he listens too.

I detest violence.

Absolutely no excuse for it

Maybe we should have dickheadville - escape from New York style

If you punch someone in the head or other unacceptable act of violence then you are saying you don’t want to be in normal society so you get to live in dickheadvile for the rest of your life

No rules in dickheadville so you’ll fit in - you can solve all your problems with as much violence as you want

No need to worry with pesky people like ambulance or police either

Why don't you start with the honest truth which is that this has never happened to you before?
Really?

Been punched in the face several times while working without resorting to violence as a response.

I would say I got a good handle on my emotional response in such situations

But hey anything you want to add to try and justify violence

how did you go finding the security guards to help you in those situations?

What do you do for work?

And how does it compare to simply walking out of an AFL venue and being accosted by a feral fan (which this 'handicapped' guy clearly is)?
I use to work security

I no longer do it

So that sort of answers your question doesn’t it?

And the incidents in questions were at a time dealing with drunk aggressive impaired patrons.

You can keep trying to justify the violence all you like, I just hope that when you are faced with that situation you choose to handle it better than using your fist.

I Don't think it matters, you've got someone with a disability being assaulted. Asking why is asking if there was a good reason.

Grabbing someone who clearly wasn't aggressive and punching them in the face isnt justified
Treating disabled people like less than capable isn't a good thing . It is possible they did something wrong so pretending they are incapable of such is bigoted. That said no strong person would consider assaulting a disabled person a good thing .

It looked like they were mouthing off before Ben knocked the drink out of the Dees fan's hand. He says he called him some derogatory slurs and that is what provoked him...Maybe he provoked the Dees fan prior to that. Knocking the drink was understandable but still not the best reaction, as he admits, but what follows, especially given he is disabled, was completely unacceptable (as most would agree). He doesn't deserve to be beaten up, but if he is prone to being a bit mouthy maybe he needs to tone it down a bit.

Then you of all people should know how useless a security guard is in any heated situation..glorified school prefects
So instead of letting something like this be handled in a legal manner

You chose to resort to an illegal option and escalate the situation

You seem well adjusted

I agree with you 100%. Not sure you can say clearly wasn't aggressive though. Unless you have some other footage or a sauce (sic source).

again I agree with you 100%, people need to learn not to put hands on each other, it's sickening

Unprovoked or not the victim could’ve been killed. Yet we wait for the victim to get seriously hurt before dishing out a punishment reflective of the crime. Get on the front foot and lock the idiot up for 5. Sends a message.

i reckon they would only need to lock about 20 up for 15 years for a one punch assault. People would learn pretty quick. These ****ing kids watch this foul MMA crap and they think they are all heroes now. Its absolutely sickening

I'm not suggesting that he couldn't be capable of anything.
Assaulting anyone shouldn't be considered a good thing.

No and when I posted that the only footage I'd seen was the original tweet.
Sounds like they got in a verbal stoush and the Hawks supporter is known to do this.
If the statement about the slurs and the slapping of the drink is true it was clearly escalating and ended up with one guy punching the other which is an all to common story

This is such an intriguing story given how cut & dried it seemed at first. Crowd violence is detestable, would like to see both men barred but there's a fair few delicate circumstances.
