Cowro at it again...

Has anyone yet seen a retraction of the misinformation she spread about Eugene not appearing at Dean's farewell drinks? I know for fact that she apologized and promised to print an apology, but given I never buy that rag of a newspaper, I would not have seen the small print hidden away somewhere among the classifieds.

I was also aware that she apologised to Eugene but didn't know she was supposed to print an apology. I'm guessing hell will freeze over before that ever happens.

I think the time has come for Eugene and JB to just flat out refuse to speak to her about anything. She just writes negative crap about North anyway so it won't make any difference. Can they also refuse her entry to any press conferences that North conduct?

In all seriousness this bitch is getting out of hand. Someone at the club needs to take a stand.
Make a scene, call her a low life, an enemy of the club, a token cow, whatever, it will be worth it in the long run.

Make it happen Euge.

I coud not agree more. This is ridiculous!! Everyone here knows whenever there is negativity about North, Cowro is behind it. Even supporters of other clubs are aware of it! She really does need to be held accountable and outed as the hated enemy of the club that she is.

GREAT idea. freeze her out of all North media conferences!

Seriously, could she have thrown any more negatives into the second yarn?
I assume she is SO smart she knows how to right 30 years of mismanagement in 12 months...fill me in Caro?? How many successful businesses have you run? Oh that's right, you work for someone else so really you have NO idea about what is involved in running a business, which makes it easy to have a crack at others who are doing so.
She could of course have mentioned we will have a $20 million asset that will attract people to interact with the club in a few months.
But no, it's about the fact we need to find $1 million earlier than we thought.
$20 million>>$1 million Caro.
The WORST bit about this is that it is damaging the brand, and one can only speculate as to her real agenda.

We've all had enough and the truth is known by most supporters of AFL clubs...but I think the best form of attack lies in the "I don't think so,Caro" approach.

If you listened to 3AW yesterday (I know many don't like to) but ROHAN CONNOLLY was on and he listened to every word that Caro was sprouting, but he had an ANSWER for each vitriolic remark. In the end she ummed and aahed and went on to another tack. We need others in the media to give FACTS each time she asserts an OPINION.

She said yesterday that she KNEW that Buckley "does not have a chance in hell of being at North Melbourne next year"...Connolly then said that we had the history, the culture, the playing list, the finances and anything else that would make us more attractive to potential coaches (not just Buckley) than another Melbourne-based club in search of a coach.

Caro then reluctantly had to AGREE with him!

I'm guessing one of two things has happened:

1. Finally someone within the club has stamped out feeding her tidbits of info and she's trying to show who's boss

2. The age is understanding that North leads the race to sign the bloke bitchmond had at the top of their list and she's trying to sabotage it.

My hatred for this biased writing hack knows no end - it is so such a waste time responding to her vindictive rubbish but I'm sure she loves it.

Edit: After reading her news piece again, does it appear to anyone else that the reason we have to seek this payment is only because the facility has been finished quicker than expected? In other words, the money had been budgeted for however we have to bring it forward because of the fact it's been finished early.

And how about burying this little nugget three quarters of the way through her think /vendetta piece:

As bad as the situation is with Etihad — the Kangaroos believe it is due between $8 and $10 million from the AFL for its contribution to the stadium over the past decade — North's business is bad for a range of reasons some of them uncomfortably recently, some more historic.

What are the chances of something positive like that leading her stories?

Thanks and congrats for:

1. reading the Vile Serpent's article twice:eek:; and
2. identifying the likely reason for the funding shortfall.

I cannot believe that this bitch is allowed to get away with what she is trying to do with us. The whole football world is starting to wake up to her - people like Rohan Connolly, Liam Pickering, Mark Allen, Hutchy seem to appreciate that she wants to sink us if she can.

What Simmo said on ch 7 this morning was a start,:thumbsu: but only a start.

Isn't it a touch ironic that she goes on and on about JB having a conflict of interest when he is commentating on North games and yet she is such a Richmond person and is the 'Chief Football writer' for her rag? I'm sure she is totally unbiased when it comes to writing articles about other clubs for The Age - NOT!!

JB just said that he is going to be on Footy Classified tomorrow night so he will find out what her problem is then. I might have to actually watch that program for once.

This is exactly it, well put. The bullshit to sell papers is always at the top and as u read further into media articles the truth comes out, but then its the person they r writing about being quoted with the truth. This crap coincides with James appearing on the show tomorrow. THE FACTS ARE IF WE HAD BEEN RECEIVING A FAIR AND EQUITABLE DEAL (LIKE OTHER CLUBS)WE WOULD ALL BE IN PROFIT. These deals have been a deliberate ploy to hold some clubs to ransom and try and have them leave the state.

That is exactly how I read it. What is the crisis? This is money we are going to get, but a facility we have been waiting on for years and will put us on a level or above the rest of the comp, will be done earlier!! It is great news, and hasn't she spent the past 10 years saying a major reason we should die is because of bad facilities?

The Buckley to Richmond thing is a definite factor here, but so is this:

Roos ripe for AFL takeover
Caroline Wilson
February 24, 2007

"North Melbourne must...accept that a state-of-the-art Arden Street is a pipe-dream and set up a base in Queensland with the full backing and steering of the AFL."

You hate being wrong, don't you Caro?

How wrong can you ****ing be??

AND HOW OFTEN!!

But she's very astute Caro, I give you this gem from February: (have highlighted the funniest bits)

COUSINS COULD BE MAKING OF TIGERS

IT WAS never going to be just about the football. From the moment Ben Cousins moved to Melbourne shortly before Christmas and was spotted in Chapel Street buying a juice, the panicked sightings and subsequent reports to Tigerland began.

For the men in charge at Richmond — already a little punch drunk, shell-shocked even from the massive plunge they had taken and the torturous debate that preceded the recruitment — a deep collective breath was required.

No sooner was Cousins seen in a Richmond coffee house with Kane Johnson and Matthew Richardson than he was spotted out with Michael Gardiner. One minute at Punt Road, the next at Riva in St Kilda. Pretty quickly, for everyone's sanity, a dose of pragmatism was required.
And it is not a criticism to suggest that the club continues to make it up as it goes along where Cousins is concerned. After all, that is the nature of the illness that led to his year-long ban in the first place. The brilliant footballer remains a day-to-day proposition who, today, is looking pretty good.

For a start, the Tigers have not reach a united view regarding the documentary, which remains unfinished and unsold, although, depending on who you talk to, could find a network within weeks. Richmond has the right to veto the program, which it has not yet seen. One school of thought at the club would rather it be programmed and done with before April, another strong view would have it shelved until Cousins' career at the club is finished.

Two days ago, when Cousins was flying to Perth with Johnson, Richardson and president Gary March, some extra marketing demands on the star recruit became the cause of some tense communications between club and manager Ricky Nixon. In the end on Friday, Cousins signed 50 jumpers for the Tigers who have now marginally boosted his wage — he remains outside the top 20 money earners — via the additional services allowance.
It is beyond dispute that if Cousins was a pariah in the eyes of the Victorian football public, he is now a hero. Football has welcomed back the prodigal son whose appearance at Gosch's Paddock 10 days ago created more excitement than any intra-club match in memory. Richmond's membership is almost 25 per cent ahead of this time last year and surely the player and the interest he has generated must count for at least half of that.

Cousins remains elusive. He has not yet come close to being part of the furniture at Richmond and at the club's function in Perth on Friday night referred to the Tigers in the third person. No cameras were allowed into the function and when he stepped off the plane at Perth Airport, March spoke to the media in Cousins' place.

Among the players, he remains relatively aloof, although he has acknowledged the overwhelming nature of the welcome he has received. The pussy-footing that accompanies any conversation between media and club regarding Cousins is an environment largely of his own creation, but has come about also because no one can truly predict whether or not the Tigers' risky decision will pay off.

But the answer to the bigger question — should Richmond have taken him at all? — would seem right now to be yes. Nick Riewoldt, who had supported Cousins' attempted recruitment at St Kilda, said two days ago that his club, with all the intelligence it had gathered, had made the right choice in the end. He was right. Cousins and his management did not handle that period well.

Richmond had the advantage of being the last man standing, but close followers of the Tigers' botched administrations over the best part of 25 years were gratified to see the then uneasy March-Wallace alliance put itself to the test and boldly choose excitement and risk ahead of safety.
The choice will continue to test them as Cousins has tested so many before. Kevin Sheedy and Andrew Demetriou may have acted as godfathers to the 30-year-old former Eagle, but their job is done. Richmond is the true parent and for the once-powerful VFL club, backing itself to handle the political football that is Ben Cousins could prove a major stepping stone back to respectability.

And then of course, she embraced Wallace as the saviour of Richmond (despite there being plenty of people in footy who knew Wallace was a dud)...how did that work out Caro? (And how many saviours do Richmond need before one actually works?)
And then of course, she said North WOULD relocate...how did that work out Caro?
And then of couse, she said Arden St redevelopment was a pipedream. How did that work out Caro?
And then of course, she said Arocca and Laidley had fallen out, and Eug was not welcome at the farewell. How did that work out Caro?
And then of course, she said North had interviewed 37 people as part of the review, the actual number was 13. How did that work out Caro?
And then of course, she questioned the integrity of the most loyal man in football - Glenn Archer. How did that work out Caro?

Hard to fathom how one person can make so many bad errors and still have a job, honestly.
And it is clear she has gone beyond reporting the facts, now all she wants is to be proven right. She won't rest until North goes under. All so she can say "I told you so".
Wow, that's integrity and professionalism.

Yeah but the clowns at The Age continue to disregard the inaccuracies in her articles.

A letter to Media Watch may be the go.

Euge make it Happen.:thumbsu:

What happened to the thread about Caro's article on the main board?

I thought North were fair game to trolls on that board or are the mods finally starting to treat all clubs equally?

I hope JB goes in loaded for bear against the serpent and tears her a new one by strongly refuting all her lies and that he calls her to account for what she writes. I hope he gets on the front foot and leads with something like "Why are you obsessed with writing lies that damage the image of NMFC?".
