It’s a common strategy in soccer that Barcelona under Guardiola perfected. Maintain possession and when you lose it, that’s when the opposition is most vulnerable so you vigorously attack the ball carrier and their options to force a turnover. If you can regain possession again, the opposition is opened up as they’ve shifted formation from defend to attack and that’s when you can exploit.I think it was Phil Walsh that instituted the 'attack the 1st releaser' so they cant get back into the chain
Because one of the 2/3 receivers will be the original handballer - by stopping this you break the rhythm and apply more pressure
