Crows supporter, you're getting yourself all flustered by turning this trade into your own little personal battle. You're missing the point entirely. It doesn't matter what you think. It's no a debate, it's just a commentary on the current situation.
THIS is the situation as it stands:
1. Carlton have insisted on Pick 14 for Jacobs or No Trade.
2. Crows are in the process of deciding whether to proceed or not based on that cost.
That's it. Everything else is ready. He's happy to go to the Crows, has presumably passed the medical, and is delighted with the huge 1 mill+ contract you've offered him. It's up to your club to say yes or no now. If they say no, both clubs will move on and trade elsewhere. That's it. Easy.
BTW you still haven't told me what other ruck you think you'll get with your "Compo Pick".
..... Pity, because that's how trades work. Unfortunately for you, you won'.....
Sounds like you're in denial. Our club officials have said they won't trade Jacobs for anything less than pick 14. Ignore that fact if you want. We're now just waiting for the sa crows trade people to come back with a yes or no. If no, both clubs will move on. Easy.
If the Jacobs to Crows trade fails, what other ruck do you think you'll land with your "compo pick"? It's a question that's been asked several times. ANy answer? I reckon the Pies would even want more for Josh Fraser.
Carlton supporter - your dream world and reality don't match up.
Unfortunately, the concept of "negotiation" isn't in your vocabulary. Pity, because that's how trades work. Unfortunately for you, you won't get pick 14 for Jacobs, no matter how many smilies you put in your posts.
Nice dream though!
Oh...
adelaide have learnt in the past not to waste their number 1 pick on ruckman, goes back to bite you on the arse. also they have stated their number 1 priority is to get a midfielder with their first pick and not to waste it on a dinosaur. we have other dinosaurs on our list who have done as much as jacobs. atleast moran can be thrown forward and kick goals as he did against carlton
adelaide have learnt in the past not to waste their number 1 pic.....
Carlton have stated publicly in regards to the Jacobs trade they'll be playing 'hard ball'
yeah i know that, but how hard can you play with a bloke who is not in your sides best 2......
We have the 2 best young rucks in the AFL in our team (i.e. Kruezer and Warnock). There's very few rucks in the AFL that could displace either of them, and both have a ridiculous amount of upside and 10 years ahead of them and so it'll get even harder. The problem we have is excess list talent, and it's difficult to hang onto players who aren't getting a game, You'll be kicking yourselves if you miss Jacobs, and there'll be another VERY happy team we'll do a trade with. Good luck trying to find another ruck with your "compo pick". I'm not too fussed if we trade with the Crows or another club. We'll do well either way.
well if they get a better offer from another club good luck to them, but he's made his request.
interesting to see opinions of others supporters regarding jacobs. not 1 other person has said they would give their 1st rounder for him, general opininions are no more that the bock pick, its only the carlton supporters saying otherwise. thats from the non biased people
gonna be interesting
Not true. Most Carlton supporters agree pick 14 in equitable. I'm in a minority and think it's cheap and we should be asking for more. Some other say less is OK. But again it's irrelevant what we all think, it's what the Carlton officials are insisting on that matters. I don't really know much about or take much notice of the sa crows team, but I guess what you need to ask yourselves is what other ruck you'll be able to get with your "compo pick". Any ideas?
the carlton officaials are obviously going to ask for the maximum, dont mean they'll get it. ..
New thread: Crows eye Grigg, Jacobs?
Um, it does. Have a look at some of our recent trades. We don't make silly requests, we make realistic request with the hope of getting the deal done quickly so we can get on with other trades. Our negotiators are pro's. It took a few days for amateur's like Freo and Weagles to cave, but they did eventually, although they wasted everyone's valuable time. Apparently crows are one of the more professional regional teams, so hopefully a decision either way will be made early, and we can get on with other trades. If no trade happens, crows will need to track down another ruck with their "compo pick", and we'll need arrange a trade with another club. Not fussed either way.
Apprentice....best you remember who's board you're on
Usually you clowns sit around with your heads up your arse pulling yourselves about your list of untouchables with no idea what goes on in trade week.Oh, sorry mate - didn't realise you were new to AFL.
Let me explain - prior to trade week, clubs make bolshy demands in a kind of "posturing". It's not actually what happens. you won't get a pick 14 swap for Jacobs, it doesn't match any kind of reality of any draft. It's just typical negotiation posturing by Carlton.
I look forward to you learning a bit more about the process - hopefully you won't be too sad when you realise pick 14 was a laugh.
Good luck with your learning process!

Now you've bottomed out, sunk nearly as far as brisbane did then lost five of your greatest ever players plus your ruckman. You're in desperate need of good players to save your shabby list.
You are now in the hands of Swann and Icke.
Sin, $50 says we finish higher on the ladder than you next year.
I wouldn't be mouthing off about newbies if I was you tool, let's have a look at your join date. You must be another newbie like Parrot? A lot of teenagers on the board at the moment - hormonal aggression and unrealistic claims about what happens in off-season.
So is this your first or second season as a Carlton supporter? The engorged rage in this post is quite teenage!
Deal. I highly doubt you have $5 to your name but anyway.Sin, $50 says we finish higher on the ladder than you next year.
