Does anyone else feel that most of the competition vastly underestimated how successful gather round is.

Salty because they "missed the boat".

For the sake of SA football, I even hope Port win their game.

Has the state ever had a centrestage opportunity like this ever? Our jumper was pure cream on the cake of a brilliant weekend for SA.

This is made even better by seeing the reactions of some pontificating, self obsessed and blatantly jealous ignoramus Victorian commercial journalists.*

*(The AFL media guys excluded as they've seen what a winner this weekend is)

I've been to two games and I'm already disappointed I don't have tickets to more.

If we get it again next year I'm gonna go to more games stay in the city take some time off work and really embrace our city and the festival.

Have to say when first announced I thought it would flop but credit to all footy fans who travelled or South Australian's who just got around the concept and are going to multiple games.

Understand your sentiment but **** Port winning, to see them lose on the national stage despite home ground advantage after our big win would be delicious

Also cements the fact that it is OUR town and that the city buzzes with excitement when the Adelaide Crows are up and about way more than the other mob ever will

Port don’t need to win for this to be successful.
Be better if they didn’t, to take away the whole “extra home game advantage thing”

Yep George. I fully understand that but raising our eyes up to a bigger picture, SA has been the butt of jokes in much of this country for decades. Not just football. We've been seen as somewhat irrelevant and that hurts me. I've lived in the Geelong region for decades now but home is still home.
SA is on a winner with Gather Round and I'm happy for all South Australians to have a great weekend.

P.s. Wishing Port well didn't flow off the "pen" smoothly. Maybe I'll just barrack for a draw??....and a few hamstrings.

Tonight's game will be a conflicted crowd.

Port beat up on Footscray half the supporters will be unhappy. The Scrays beat them half the Tealsters will be happy.

Won't even be NTUA to unite them.

I was wondering about this, will they get special permission to have their sing-along like they did in finals?

Surely not, when they were up and about there was some hype about how much it added to the experience but they don't have that pull now that they are a below average side.

If it's truly organic they'll sing it without needing it pumped through the speakers.

They will have got permission to still play it, certain they will.
