To my amateur eyes it was a combination of A. St Kilda looking sluggish, out of form and poorly skilled and B. Adelaide red hot, executing well in front of a home crowd and looking like a finals team

Both A and B were true- it's not either/or

It isn't surprising though when Saints are injury riddled and underdone.

What frustrates me is people irrationally jumping to pessimism.

That pessimism must be placed in context- that we were playing strong opposition, which is becoming clearer by the week.

Jesus, if anyone is justified in falling straight to pessimism it's us Saints fans. Irrational would be expecting anyone to have faith in us.

We were smashed 2 weeks straight and barely slowed our opposition. I'd say that's context.

I’m probably one of the most optimistic on here.
But it doesn’t give me one iota of comfort knowing the Bombers were as bad as us.
I’m not into comparisons. Only care about the Saints.
And while I give you your points about a list with many injuries and very young, I would have taken a loss. Just not a thumping. And the same goes for tonight. Although I always go expecting a win.
