Wont play. Theyll need another x factor. Its pretty simple. With no Carey, no more K Johnson,no Welsh and an underdone Roo...

Not a foregone conclusion yet, and Carey's been included in the side.

We'll know later today, though, whether he'll actually play, after the Crows complete their training session.

Can anyone give me 1 valid reason why the final should be played in Adelaide? Look at the semi finals - Adelaide v Kangaroos (home game for Crows),Collingwood v Geelong (neutral).

Here is two:

1. Adelaide had been stiffed a home final twice before.

2. Adelaide had travelled, Collingwood had not.

I have not heard 1 good reason why it should be played in Melbourne, including the irrelevancy you quote above.

If history played a role in choosing grounds, then here's why the umpires should help Collingwood win:

1. They got stiffed in 1980

of course Adelaide hadn't been dreamed up in the lab yet so some people might not remember, but who cares.

This Wiz cup is all that counts for anything and Collingwood's form is too hard to go past. Don't care that much either way - thanks JLC - but I voted before I saw it was asking for a preference rather than a prediction.

Collingwood will win easily. Mick Malthouse may be a corporate bunny, but he does know how to coach and assess his team, and he knows that he hasnt got the manpower to really challange for a flag unless blessed with a lot of luck like last year.

Everything fell into place in februrary, when he had almost a full list, the rules were changed which worked in his favour, and the draw favoured him winning (to avoid travel). He made a concious decision to go for it, and they have. He needs to deliver some silverware, and this is his best shot for the next couple of years.

Adelaide on the other hand, are primed for September action. They are still taking the wizard cup for what it is. Pre-season. Hence they are playing Carey for a 1/4 or two to get him match fit for the real stuff.

Pies by 30 points.

Adelaide will win. Carey will kick 15 and Edwards will break Cloke's jaw. Nathan Buckley will stuff his ankle up bad.

They may not admit this but can you hear the hearts of Adelaide supporters breaking at the irony of the above statement.

Its good to see that you have gotten into the heads of both coaches and know exactly what they are thinking

Hey, they are coaches, not rocket scientists. It wasnt that hard.

Well its good to see that we only want the Wizard Cup and are not interested in September action.

It troubles me to think, if we are winning games why we can't be serious about the real season.

If we lost in Round 1 of the Wizard Cup to Carlton, would that mean we are prime for September action?

Its sounds to me that we're damned if we do and damned if we don't. Either way people will see us as a one season wonder.

We are a much stronger side this year, and contrary to popular belief, not all things went our way last year. We have a lot of improvement in us.

Adelaide haven't done anything to prove that they are a better side than us and that they will go further this year.
