Yes, it's very funny. My favourite way of dealing with all this stuff is to ignore it. However, yesterday's effort, foaming at the mouth, comparing us with the druggies, and demanding sanctions, triggered rage in me. I figured that it should in the AFC also, and I would have thought that this would be the ideal time for the AFC to say "enough", and get aggro. I was hoping for a published reaction from them, but maybe they have done it through the back door?

I love the “3 or 4” phone calls from people

What was it ? 3 or 4 - surely something as horrific as that camp she can remember who rang her.

Oh wait - that would involve a FACT that could be CHECKED where her “story “
might get exposed as FAKE!

I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

So what has she done today ????
Backed off the story quicker than you can say Collective Minds!
Wonder if she got any calls saying put up or shut up
?

I also noticed today that Barrett, while still describing the camp as a "disaster", suddenly claimed that the "sincere apologies" from Chapman and Pyke should be enough for this to all go away. A definite change of media groupthink today.

Possible threats of legal action could do that..*

That island Rucci is on might be getting a bit crowded !!!!

* am not. claiming this as a fact - in b4 the usual suspects start up

The AFL have told them all to pull their heads in. The whole thing has been massively overstated from day one. They’ve investigated it twice and come up with nothing like the levels of melodrama being claimed in the media.

I wouldn't be surprised if something like this was going on. The AFL might not be able (or willing) to sanction journalists for "bringing the game into disrepute" but they would be wanting to hose down any wild and inaccurate stories.

Just as the board on here should be hosing down Crows members who gobble up the media of fake news as FACTS, throwing wild derogatory comments at the Crows staff from the bloody media without even a thought "could this be fake?"

And yet, this could have all been avoided (or at least mitigated) if the Crows had come out and made a statement early that they ****ed up but they're working towards fixing the problem.

Also, where's the accountability of the journos who claimed, "If the public only knew what I know about the atrocities that happened on the camp....." Caro, McClure, Rowie etc, all with damning inside info, yet the AFL decides that there's nothing to see.

There are mind games being played by the Media. The Media (in certain sectors eg. McClure) has an overt agenda to derail the Crow's season by appearing to investigate "something horrific", when there really wasn't anything horrific by any stretch of the imagination. And evidence was that we had a start of 5-2 after 7 rounds, and whilst their were piling of injuries, the players showed character and mateship with that kind of start to the year.

Furthermore, when it was so damn obvious we had an injury epidemic going on, why didn't McClure even bother to investigate or hardly even mention about our injuries this year? (Hint: he doesn't really give a shit about the Crows or its fans)

With the media having this sort of agenda, the club is doomed unless it brings results, which as we all know it didn't end well this season. So overall, it's a case of the club being damned if they do, and damned if they don't (respond to the Media).
* If the club says little to nothing to refute the Media's claims => the Media will appear to have more legs and can talk more shit.
* If the club tries to make statements (eg. Burton/Pyke presser) => the Media will just make up some more shit and the club will not have the time or resources to keep responding.

Classic troll 101 by Media.

Seriously stop with the paranoia, I think subaru calls it bed wetting, they aren't out to get us.
We derailed our own season. Blaming the media is just pathetic.

I'm not saying we didn't **** up the season. I'm saying the Media has an obvious agenda to put us off this year. If you can't see it doesn't mean I'm paranoid.

The only reason the media have kept going is because we've given them reason to!
You sound like a port supporter suggesting the media have an agenda against us.

Strange we cancelled the contract then...if there was nothing wrong

It didn't bring good results, so the relationship was cut. It happens all the time in elite sports.
eg. players on 5 year contracts but get delisted or traded before their contracts end.

Here's the catch: the Media's theme is "the camp has messed the psyche of the Crows players". They then throw in some truths, half-truths and a bunch of BS in between.

Here's my question to anyone here: what can the club say to DISPROVE the media's theme?
(hint:It's an impossible task!)

Neither did kangatech, didnt see players leaking about that or us holding a press conference to distance ourselves.

Because in life, there are good and bad results. You keep going with the good and you try and make less of the bad ones.

My point really, is that it was far from a "disaster" as the Media is making out. How can a disaster of a preseason lead to a 5-2 start? And probably our second best start ever in the history of the Crows!

Because not every player was upset by it? How did Betts start the year? Hampton? Jacobs - how was his whole year? Lynch?
We beat richmond at home (they haven't won away from melbourne) beat sydney in sydney (lost 5 games at the scg this year)
flogged saints carlton and sun as you'd expect and lost to essendon. Not exactly a wild start.
