They punished you like they punished Melbourne. They tend to show mercy to the basket cases/weak clubs.
The AFL's flowchart to punishments appears to be "Can the club survive the punishment we want to give them? If so, go hell for leather. If not, scale it down to the point where it is a slap on the wrist in order to protect TV deals".
