I’d like him to, but it looks like Borlase is ahead at this stage
Curtin was give a key defender lesson today on Tex... but I suspect we will be looking to use him more as a flanker come round 1.

He's a talent that we will be keen to start playing AFL early.

Also, remember he is coming back off an injury.

Yeah hopefully it’s part of a ramp up, but I would’ve thought they’d finish with him in yellow (ie best 22 backs) against the blue forwards

Should become clearer which way we’re leaning after the next two games, I guess

I certainly think he’s capable as a 3rd tall/flanker come R1

We need to get bigman to watch stream do his report and delete rest of thread
Camera work was…questionable, let’s just that jeff. That third quarter in particular was basically was basically a write off.

Overall a pretty solid hit out, got a bit sloppy at times after half time. Playing at a foreign ground with a bit of wind and at the end of a camp, not to mention injuries to some key players going into it, it was never going to be the greatest spectacle.

Rankine was the clear standout today, as he has been for the summer. His significant midfield time in match sim continued today and he just looks really quite natural in there. See how he goes against elite opposition next week but it’s an exciting development.

Thilthorpe was again impressive, albeit against dragon once more, though he also took a great mark on keane. That’s three weeks in a row he has been quite dominant up forward. Once he takes one clunk he seems to quickly take a bunch more and take over the game.

A lot of the guys I listed a week ago as the best trainers during pre season showed why today. Murphy was excellent and got involved up the ground. I thought berry looked confident and powerful and his kicking was more than fine. Dawson dominated in the first half and looks super fit. Sholl I thought was good again today.

If there were some slight negatives I thought worrell was quiet, rachele only played in small bursts and I thought the new boys were on the quieter side, although edwards had quite an impressive opening term in particular his clean hands. Didn’t think pistol had a great day either but he is underdone as I’ve mentioned.

Maybe, we'll see, had virtually no preseason last year, then was injured for a major part of the year and had only played the 1 season of serios footy for the Rebels after concentrating on high class rowing previously yet captained theRebels and played every game for the Vic Country team at the Nationals playing in the unfamiliar lock down role on the opposing team's best small forwards.
Agree basically you just erase last year when assessing him and look at him as a brand new draftee but the problem he’ll have is his contract won’t give him the 2 year cushion they have.

It’s an internal trial where half the players aren’t currently AFL quality.
Fair to say he was at least top 15 on the ground, maybe even top 10

Can’t just completely discredit the form shown today, by any player (admittedly you can’t run with it as gospel, either)

Ryan did a few good things when he came on in 2nd half
