And the tears that resulted from that. Hawthorn's reputation as a hard club completely disappeared in that game.
Alternatively Freos reputation as perennial losers will never disappear.

It's not a good look at all, it's very clear what his intention is.
It's a dog move.
What bullshit! Warnock played the next week in the VFL!
It is not Cyril's fault that Warnock can't get a game in the seniors. But carry on blaming cyril rather than poor form. Warnock clearly has chronic shoulder issues, having had shoulder surgery in the pre-season in 2012 and 2009. He went in for more shoulder work nearly 2 months after the Rioli tackle, and that is what effectively ended his season. But why blame spudliness and chronic injury issues for his lack of game time in the seniors after round 14, when you could blame Rioli eh?
So please stop saying Cyril caused Warnock a serious injury. Played the next week, dodgy shoulder pre-dated Cyril tackle.

Yup, win a holding the ball decision by making sure the player doesn't have a free arm to make an effective disposal. You'll see plenty examples of this by other good tacklers every week. Rioli is probably the best at it.
No it isn't. A dog move would be continually taking your opponent high while not having eyes for the ball. You know like the Cat's players who have a chronic MRP panel issue because of this type of repeated dog behaviour.
So are you saying that Adams chronic shoulder injuries which pre-dated the judd 'chicken wing' tackle means that the injury from the Judd tackle wasn't Judd's fault and is was more to do with Adams weak shoulders?
Tackling by the arm is fine.
Doing a chicken wing - where you put it behind someone's back and then raise it upward in a way that would injure that arm isn't.
Of those videos I didn't see any of Rioli's victims show the slightest concern, or inability to carry on to the next contest. If he was tackling guys and they were left there writhing in pain because he'd inflicted an injury I'd be pretty critical.
Geez that doesn't look good. Every bit as bad as Judd's on that footage, if not worse.
This is pretty disgusting, and not necessary to complete the tackle.
So no, not every bit as bad ...
You aren't fooling anyone no matter how hard you try to convince yourself what he did is OK. As I said, he is very lucky Griffen managed to straighten his arm out because had he not have it could very likely have caused serious damage. You can see the way Griffens arm flings back towards his body the amount of force being applied. The knee from his teammate?? I agree.
Let's review that.
I'll start by saying it doesn't look good in that clip, it looks slightly better in the extended version, Griffin gets up holding his head from the friendly fire knee. Cyril is the player making the tackle and there is no injury resulting from it.
Judd's, let's see, Judd is not the one making the tackle, it's a deliberate act only released when pushed off and remonstrated with, Judds act caused the player to be injured, the player clearly showed pain from the act.
So no, not every bit as bad,
If not worse???? even someone with the most rediculous bias wouldn't suggest that, clearly a troll statement.
Edit: Another significant difference, Cyril let go, Judd had to be pushed off, even then he held on for a bit.
If it was Adams with his chronic shoulder issues instead of Griffin being tackled like that by Cyril, you wonder how much damage that tackle could have done. You aren't fooling anyone no matter how hard you try to convince yourself what he did is OK. Wat......
The knee from his teammate?? I agree.
Less worried by Cyril's tackle (Griff winced a few times, but played on) than I was by Cheney's blatant knee to the head of Macrae on the boundary line. That was a dog act, similar to Embley and SJ, but head high instead.
No. From that clip it looks as bad if not worse.
What quarter was that, any vision?
