Geeves and i are heading up to Topo Gigio for a bowl of pasta. Anyone keen on a glass of wine or a bite please visit.
Seems the wheel is starting to turn Rupo's way. Tippsters are flocking to the woodsmen like never before. The love that KB and Sandra have been searching for all year is suddenly arriving in droves.
Perhaps a little too quick? Will run the OC off their legs? Interesting thoughts.
Would love to hear from either team on any selection surprises from last night. Geeves was at an Institute of Modern Butlers (IOMB) dinner last night and was unable to gather any selection dirt.
Cheers - DG

Anybody see the irony in MonkeyBoy's reply??
My mail suggests you already have more 'selection dirt' than you are letting on DG Man....

I'm searching for the opposite meaning in MonkeyBoy's reply, but am yet to find it?? You can't be everyones cup of tea. (Sorry Geeves; just stole one of your favourite lines!)
Re DG dirt, conduct...what are you hinting at here? I am not who i have not said i am?

Cheers - DG:)

DG - its been a long year for everyone, and the D1 thread is a ripper (if there was an Eastern FL thread I would have never found this one!). With one week to go it would be a shame for me rock the boat too much.

So in response to your previous question - Conduct says a big "no comment".;)

I think i speak on behalf of everyone on this thread when i say put a cork in it Monkeyboy....I find DG Man's fictional character Geeves to be quite hilarious.
He is the boss of this thread, everyone knows that.... now back in your box.... heres a $25 banana for you to chew on.

Here here! Well spoken ILSS.

I have always wondered if it's "here here" or "hear hear". Anyone smart have an answer to this?
Tomorrow...fine, sunny, light breeze 20 degrees. Perfect beer weather. Perfect football weather.
BRING IT ON!

didn't realise you guys had been missing me, been flat out looking at pr0n.

well T69

The Geezer, the Skipper & the H will all go well.
the OAPs will share quite a few votes but none of them will get up.
Midas will poll in a couple of games.
but my money will be on the Geez.

CMCK,

Who are the OAPs? You've been in good form over the last couple of days- definitely deserving of votes. Although I doubt whether the Geez will win the B&F.

DG,

I thought Geeves would eat that sort of research up for breakfast... I have often wondered myself about that one. I thought it was 'here here', meaning 'agreement is coming from over here', but I found the following on www.dictionary.com:

Idiom:

hear, hear Used to express approval. Good luck to both sides on the weekend. It should be a close one.

I believe it to be 'hear hear' DG,
referring to listening to comments, surely Geeves would confirm this.
further it has no relationship to the expression there there which will be said to all the OC players around 4:30 omorrow after Rupo steal the flag that Carey have always believed to rightfully be theirs.
I hope Dudley is enjoying the motorcade in sunny Sunbury.

meanwhile I offer greetings to all the Prahran players soaking up the finals atmosphere in Perth. hopefully their cheering brings the Dees & Dogs home with the spoils.

sorry T69
OAPs = old age pensioners
Pitts, A. Walford, W. Scicluna, M.

who's your tip btw?

Prahran and Caulfield Football Clubs will be entering a joint venture U19 team in 2007, likely in U19 Blue.Players will be sourced from Caulfield U17's 2006,St Michael's Toorak, some Caulfield U17's 2005 and general recruiting.
Currently advertising for coaches.

Looks like being a pretty proffessional set up in terms of administration and facilities!

Guys - any news on this? Will they play at Prahran's ground and be called Prahran? Sounds like a good idea if you can get it up and running.

That's a good point. "No OAPs in wet t-shirts"

"Girls, get girls."

"Girls will be coming, Keith"

"No, not these ones. Other girls. Pretty girls."

"Do you want us to get some prostitutes, Keith?"

"Nah, you shouldn't have to pay..."

DG Man 90% of the tips for Rupo have come from the boys themselves. They love this thread and they love there footy.

Good Luck to OC as well, the two encounters during the year have been crackerjack games, i rate our game in Round 6 as our second best performance of the year behind our round 18 win over BT. Hope it is a ripper!!!!

Yes Dudley, uni student indeed.
John, what odds can you give on Baddeley for BOG? He will match up on someone like Angus I think which will be a very good duel for the crowd.

Saddle up on my boy Cowboy because he is at about $23 which is his jumper no. who ever he gets it will be a great tustle he is tremendous talent and watch the crowd move to which ever end he is at, the boy gets the fans through the gates. go rupo

Good luck to both sides, i think it should be a great match
I have a feeling Carey will win, however ruppo should not be underestimated. They were the best side the bullants played this year, great running side with great skills.

Tip: CAREY by 20 points

An excellent side by our resident scribe. Double thumbs up!:thumbsu: :thumbsu:

I had 17 of the 22 he chose in the DG-Geeves Team of the Year.

We had Ballard, Skicko, Pietryk, Crotty and Wise
Quill had the twin Carey towers, R.Drew, Malpas and Bayles

If i had to name the unluckiest guys to miss i would say:

* Therry's F-Knight and Crotty
* BT's Wise
* Ballard from Leos

Overall a very solid side. Obviously the stronger teams have greater representation and that is how it should be. No point trying to put someone from every club if they are not up to it.

9.5/10

Cheers - DG

Dee

the team will be known as Prahran/Caulfield and play at Princes Park, Caulfield (the old VFA ground, where Sandy Dragons train & Caulfield seniors play) although the bit about St Michaels Toorak is wrong - St Michaels is in St Kilda just off Chapel St.
The club has been working towards this for a few years now and it's a very exciting time for all involved.

best team all year won. No doubts anymore.
carey by 8 odd goals and S Collins unstoppable. Ugly saw most of the game. Special congrats to Cam Matthews - a top effort by a top fella.

ps - pretty solid effort by Rupo t climb anoher grade - no doubt they will continue their march over the next 5 years.

Ugly out - going for a run tomorrow - fired up by finals footy......only 364 days to go...

Old carey did win well today with a finals recipe that would have made there coach and supporters proud. They are a great side, much better on the day.
The recipe.
Take D. Collins out: mission achieved (concussed in first quarter)
Hit us hard: mission accomplished (another player concussed in first quarter)
Throw a few sneaky punches in tight and continue if umpires don't see it: mission accomplished
Scrag gun players off ball at stoppages don't even look at ball: mission accomplished
Elbow players 50mtrs of the ball if the opportunity presents: mission accomplished.
A few players did not play in the spirit of Amateur football IMO. Way too good though. If those umpires get another final this year it will be a joke. They were digraceful, even tried to even it up with some shockers.

It is only fitting after today to give a salute to both S. Collins and D. Collins. S. Collins was unstoppable and is a ball player, great performance. My ode is to D. Collins, to watch him being helped off the ground today was very emotional, this man has put his body on the line as captain for the last 4 years in a manner not equalled by anyone, not even close. D. Collins most importantly is a super person a man that i will cherish to have met, he came back on the second half and was fantastic. This man is a credit to himself his family and the Rupertswood football Club and is cherished in every way.

We were comprehensively beaten today but our effort IMO over the year was enormous, we go int "C" Grade with the knowledge ex-players are very keen to continue our rise. Watch out "C" Grade, watch out OC, KB out what a great year.
