Motlop for me.

Obvioulsy you haven't seen much of Alan Didak. No wonder Port wanted him in the Nick Stevens trade. Because he is a very nice kick of the ball and thats why is an effective forward pocket.

Didak's a frontrunner.
Why do you say that? Front runners don't win finals in the last Q off their own boot and especially not against Brisbane.

IMO both have not produced a fraction of their hype so far. I've obviously seen much more of Didak. To be frank he was dissapointing last year but from what I did see of Motlop so was he. Both are similar in that their good work keeps supporters coming back for more but neither do enough good work to justify their hype. Both have some good skills and both seem capable of playing a small forward role with overhead ability and can play midfield. It's a toughy call but Didak's 2 goals in the QF after being benched get him over the line for me.

IMO Motlop is a much more versatile player and is more unpredictable.

Didak has a considerably better kick on him, but is more of a specialist forward at the moment.

I would like to see Didak play a larger role in Collingwood's midfield (much like what Melbourne's doing with Green) to see what the guy is made of.

I am highly bias - but in the 2nd half of the season, I rated Motlops season very highly- he started doing the basics (1%ers) and it paid off, also contributed a few goals.. it wasn't just the flashy stuff - like it had been previously.. (Though, a few more marks like the one he took with about 3 minutes left on Sunday would keep me very pleased:D)

Go Roos

If i was givin the chance of swapping Motlop to Collingwood for Didak i would tell thar person to F off, there is no way Didak is better then Motlop.

Speak for yourself.

Didak's great when the flow of the game runs his way but when the chips are down - for the most part - he goes missing.
I've given you one example where the opposite is true and that was 5 games ago in a final against the clear best team in the AFL and in recent history. In a very tight game he kicked 2 late goals to win the game at a time when no one else on either team could. That is precisely what you want from a goal sneak half forward. Against the dog’s he missed a couple of shots and spent time on the wing. I could give you others as well. As a rule he is a slowish starter. His biggest plus is that he can make an impact when not playing that well. The fact is he is a half forward and bar a few exceptional players like Daicos they always depend on the quantity and quality of supply. It wasn't called starvation corner for nothing.

He is so bad your coach wanted him and you hardly lack small forwards or front runners.

As I said it wasn;t a one off but if it was it's once more than anything you've offered in support of your view.

Simple answer is stay tuned and watch what you wanted but couldn't get. Should only be a decade of viewing. We'll see how he goes in the heat of battle on Thirsday first off but I am confident he'll show plenty ove the year.

Why did Port want him so badly then?

My issue with Didak is that I don't think he's deserving of the praise attributed to him - yet.

Furthermore, I'm more than happy with the crop of youngsters coming through at Alberton at the moment.

Junior Burger, Salopek, Ebert, Surjan et al will make the next decade well worth watching for Port supporters.
