don't think that is the case just yet about the bees,

everyone is beatable on their day, slow the game down, keep the footy off them - they can't hurt if they don't have the football in their hands, harder then it sounds I know but break them down, contest by contest, watch the frustration build and then go from there.

im pretty sure monash was the team that could have beaten the bees and look what happened there.
have seen nobs play the bees both home and away and they just simply cannot keep up with the pace the bees have for the full 4 quarters.
lets face it, the team in just unstoppable. the only thing that will hurt them in injury.

haha you've got to be kidding. they will finish top but they are not unbeatable. they were getting this sort of (ridiculous) hype last year and look where that got them.

every team has injuries, its just good to see you're getting your excuses in early just in case you do lose when it matters!

Evening D1 gurus,
All the home teams to win is the vision in my crystal ball today, except for SMD who will suffer the pain for at least another week.

Look for some big margins as the weather is fine and the tracks are fast. Werribee by 50 plus, Peninsula to get away by a lot and Monash to turn it on at the Frearson.

Surely we're due for some winter weather soon so I can tip SMD to get up for a win and the Bees to get stung....

Give an umpire some love. Les out.

That might be a problem. The midfield get their hands on it first more often than not. I saw half the game at Monash, they were good for patches.

No team is unbeatable, but Werribee may be close to it....

Werribee are yet to have an injury,Aquinas have played 35 players all ready due to injury, wait till the bloods are at full strength.

South Melbourne must be flying then....

Fair game at Monash today with OMs coming out of the blocks flying and being 30pts up at the first change. Thankfully a solid qrtr time spray from the coach woke Monash up and they levelled it at half time in a handy turnaround. Ashes slightly had the better of the second half in a pretty even tussle higlighting the closeness of D1. Good for SMD to beat Aquinas who beat Peninsula so that puts them right back in the competitive mix.

It seems Williamstown have hit their straps, cant imagine they have played anything like that and lost so many games, they really play their ground quite well. Must say it is a bit distracting having the Lacrosse on at the same time, alot of whistles

Anyway after umpire recognition week the other week I vote for Thump an Ump week next week :D

Les, have aquinas just simply, ran out of excuses????

It seems the OMs need Teasdale to fire for them to kick a winning score. If my information is correct it seems that he will be missing for the 2nd half of the season as he will be backpacking around nepal with his new girlfriend. Could be an interesting 2nd half of the year for Andrew Hayes if he cannot cover this loss. The hierarchy are begining to become restless with the coaching arrangement between the schools side and the club side. Can they seriously contend without Teasdale and there are other main player Graham currently weighing in heavier than Dereck Kickett???

What was with the score in the Monash v Mentone Reserves, 123 to 5?
Why was it such a shellacking?

I think the boys were watching the socceroos training next door! Talking about OMs, does anyone know what has happened to Fairbanks, he kicked 9 in 3qs round 1 but hasnt been seen since??

BLOCKBUSTER UPDATE

Yes it is the first legitimate blockbuster of the D1 season this weekend with the 2 undefeated teams meeting in a much anticipated clash. Of course I refer to the Monash v Whitefriars ressies game. Should be huge...

He has unfortunately spent the last few saturdays wired up on 'red bull' shopping for a new house......will be back when the realtor signs on the dotted line

Massive fixture, match of the round.

D1 question of the week - how much is the home ground advantage worth to sides eg Willy seem to be 5 goals better at home....

Trevor's Tips for Round 7

Aquinas v NOBs - serious time to make a move on the four for NOBS and they should have the ability to win this one

SMD v Peninsula - well SMD beat Aquinas and they beat Peninsula so SMD can make some claims here - will be a check on any improvement and if they get within 5 goals of the pirates at the end I'd say ok work

OMs v Werribee - can see OMs going with the runners from the west for about a half and then they have to stop the blitz. However very interested to see how the bees handle this testing away trip

BT v Willy - looks like I'm going for the truly bizarre and tipping all away teams this week. Willy seem to be hitting form so gives the pattern a chance of coming through, but won't start favorites

Friars v Monash - big respect for the home ground advantage and hoping Monash can work hard for 4 quarters and get over the line - should be a tight day in the main game but even if some don't care am looking forward to the twos. We are getting a bit of joy after hardly winning a ressies game for the last 4 years or so! Enjoy it while you can...

Just a query to Panda or Table Tennis.

How did NOBS stack up against other opposition. I know they have 1/2 a side of quality to come into the side that played Williamstown, Bulleen Temp and Werribee - but they are pretty hard to gauge at the moment as they have won at home against low teams but havnt beaten any strong sides, but they have all been away.

Selections:

Aquinas V NOBS by 3 points - a major danger game for NOBs.
SMD V Peninsula by by 78 points
OMs V Werribee by 60 points
BT V Willy by 30 points
Friars V Monash by 12 points, will upset Monash to make NOBS Friars the following week a season breaker.

Didnt see the game, but, Nobs are always competitive.

Aquinas VNOBS by 3 points - Aquinas's young pups to dig deep.
SMD V Peninsula by 36 points - SMDs no good.
OMs V Werribee by 12 points - Tough away trip. Werribee in the same position as last year when OMs derailed the Sh!t train. Same again!!!
BT V Willy by 15 points - Bulleen to strong at home
Friars V Monash by 1 points - to keep there season alive
