Kew win 2014 D2 Grand Final
Richmond lose 2014 D3 Grand Final.... Yet Richmond would have beaten Kew last year.

Cosmo, are you drunk?

I wish it's been along day - just think that D3 improved last year and D2 went backwards - we will know more in 22 weeks!

To say that Richmond might have PUSHED a few mid table D2 teams would be reasonable. But to say that the losing D3 Grand Final side would beat the D2 Premiers is absurd.

Cosmo, put that call behind you n keep moving forward.

Ok well if you? are saying I’m wrong then I must be …. Let’s just say I don’t listen to your very sound arguments so far….

Emmaus, NB and RC would have more than push the middle clubs in D2 they would have beaten them, it’s just not that big a jump and as I have already stated last year was a poor year for D2 footy outside the top 3! You are massively over rating the jump between D3 and D2!!

G'day Cosmo,

I tend to agree that the jump is not as big as people may suggest - and this year will be very even in D2 with the quality coming up and the two stand out clubs (IMO) going upto D1. That said, to suggest that a club that had an 11/7 record in D3 could have beaten the eventual premier (Kew) in D2 is a bit hard to piece together.

Again, this says nothing about what may happen this year as I agree that the top teams in D3 would have pushed middle of the road teams in D2.

What's your ladder prediction for 2015 in D2.......?

Chump.

Unclear what (if anything) that has to do with pushing Kew? (humor me please) Both NB and RC are in the same div you guys have been stuck in the middle of for some time now, lets see who gets out first! My money is on the two teams coming up..........

Would I be right in saying Emmaus couldn't beat the middle teams the year before that's why they got relegated?

Parade
Ivanhoe
Richmond
Northern Blues
Eltham
St Johns
South Melbourne
------------------------------ Daylight
Monash Gryphons
Elsternwick
MHSOB

I thought you said you didn't rate OP's yesterday? Now you have them on top. #confused :)

I didn't rate Parade last year - they looked slow at times and lacked the depth of the top three sides, as I have said several times now I didn't rate any sides in D2 except the top 3 LAST YEAR. I'm not sure why this is such a hard concept to grasp??

From what I have heard Parade have recruited well, I think Eltham will slide with a few outs and the two side coming up I rate, l think that Parade maybe the best of an even lot (minus the bottom 3).

Note; I did tip Parade tomorrow.

Chump is this ok, I desperately what you approval......

Cosmo....are you on the Friday pop early?
I agreed with your thoughts re D3 and mid-D2 - so no surprises there.
Just thought i would ask a question re OP's as being average last year to top of the ladder for this year.
You have my approval..........so happy days for you I would imagine :)
Chump.

P.S. Boundy did a hammy at training last night. ;-)

Wow, this division this year is really warming my heart with half of the teams (okay stretching the boundary a little bit here) based in the northern suburbs. Great to see, although some of my loyalties will be tested most weeks - like today !

Elsternwick vs Monash Gryphons
Old Eltham vs South Melbourne
Richmond vs Ivanhoe
MHSOB vs St Johns
Northern Blues vs Old Paradians

GREAT!!! This is what we pay affiliation fees for. The might Ammos computer system shits itself. Don't hurry to fix the bloody thing guys. We've only been waiting 6 firkin months for today. We only want to know who won today! Oh wait, you don't care. You're winners already. You have purged us of our fees anyway. Same same. Travesty. Maybe we should start fining you!
Anyhow, Elsternwick won. Eltham won. St Johns won. I can advise this because the Ammos don't control everything.
I will rant bigtime on Monday morning at headquarters.

OPS got up in a thriller.

"Richmond vs Ivanhoe - Richmond win this, they would have played finals last year in D2 see no reason they wont again."

Awesome start to your conquest of Division 2 Richmond Central. FYI Ivanhoe did not play finals last year. Does that mean they would have beaten Kew last year?
Oh I get it, you're tanking! Clever!
Better polish up the old crystal ball matey. o_O

I still think with a full list RC would have pushed Kew last year but granted that was last year and this is this year - I've actually got nothing to do with RC so don't tar them with may rambelings on here and I certainly didn't pick a conquest of D2! 10 goal loss isn't a great start and clearly Ivanhoe are better than I gave them credit for or maybe, just maybe they have improved (is that possible / a team improves form one year to another??) Blues seemed competitive, wicks surprised MG and MH look bottom two....

We played pretty well yesterday - especially 1st quarter - and ran the game out ok considering we had no bench by 3/4 time with a few blokes off. We will have to improve some more for sure as the 3 quarters (after the 1st) were a bit patchy. But, as far as a first game of the year goes - and it is ONLY round 1 - the club was pretty happy to get some away points in the ones and twos. Game played in good spirit (physical but fair) and a few cold cans afterwards in the sun finished of an April afternoon that IAFC can be happy with.

Looks like their twos had no issues which is a good sign... Unless St Johns lack depth?

Agree - twos were ok and there has been alot of chatter about the new coach, great fitness and new recruits at the Joc's, so maybe they just came up against a very good D2 team this year in St Johns for rd 1?
