According to their president, at the VAFA season launch on Monday night, OW should be considered flag favourites in D2 this year.

We can say that we are up to the standard of D2 but we don't really know what the level is like, as we are yet to play a D2 team. From watching other teams I think we will be able to match them, but that is not really much to go on.

Our team has obviously won the premiership last year, so it is only natural for us to be confident at the moment. Saturday should give us a fair indication of the standard of D2 considering St Leos played finals last year.

Ben Hutton is as fit if not fitter than last year. Expecting big things from him this season.

Thanks akkadakka

All the best for the year.

My thoughts for the Weekens games

Werribee over Bentleigh by 36 points even though Bentleigh have picked up some good young blokes. Werribee proved last year they can win away from home. After drainage works completed at Bentleigh it will give the Quicks at Werribee the speed needed to get the ball to the forwards.

Haven't seen Ivanhoe before but I will pick SMS by a kick as I believe SMS were not a bad side last year with some good quality players

Therry just over Banyule due to home ground advantage. 7 points. Therry struggled against Werribee last week after the rains came, but were good before then and it was a Praccy match.

Glen Eira by heaps over OP, 10 goals if you believe the amount of players OP have lost to Ivanhoe and Northern League.

Leos over OW by 10 points. Leos will be too strong over the ground with their tough hard at it attitude.

Start of season has been a long time coming and its good to be Talking Footy.

Just to confirm for you WEST - not a single player has come from OP's team from last year to Ivanhoe this year. The players mentioned were at Ivanhoe last year or have been at another club in between.

that being said - i don't know what they have lost or gained this year at
' the Gavey '.

Chump.
