Harps, surely there is room for your good mate Fishlock in the side? Would be great to see Bentleigh represented. At a minimum squeeze Mad Dog Glenn Richards in on the bench

1 part of that quote was correct bracksy. How's things down at hawthorn mate? Straight sets this year i beleive
Unfortunately the hawks choked on one of your drumsticks. May you have fun with Westbourne next year....Good luck for saturday.. I know you and the boys won't let me down...:thumbsu:

2 more sleeps now boys how was the feeling at training tonight ?? few nerves ?? blokes jumping out of there skin ?? good luck to all teams involved sat districts by 11pts !!!!

Quiet night at Blood Stadium.

Training was light - skills only, with the boat race 1's v 2's the highlight of the night: each player has a keg. (Pots are for homos.)

Then we have our own special 'Face/Off' game: the captains headbutt the windows of the social club - loser is the first to bleed to death. Great work by Mickey O to show Whits up tonight, btw. The winner then gets a severe rogering by Big Tez McEvoy.

Traditional values out at Ringwood.

Get ON you Blooders! Can't wait for Saturday.

There are a couple of interesting selections in your TOTY.

very strong looking side you've got there Harps, dunno about the inclusion of one C. Ryan though. his own coach doesn't even rate him! should go play under you Harps :p

no, unfortunately i did not but i saw it coming. very tough night at selection for Lynchy with something like 7 or 8 (or more?) perfectly fit blokes missing out through sheer weight of numbers. i feel worst for the guy who misses out after playing in last week's side. good footballer, great guy. didn't deserve to be dropped. coaching must suck sometimes!

Bad luck mate. Many sympathies. But will no doubt see you there tomorrow to cheer the boys home. I'll buy you a lager back at the clubrooms.

appreciate the kind words moca, sympathies i don't need, but many lagers will certainly be the order of the day tomorrow, regardless of the results.

Harper, any chance of you actually running this book tomorrow? I'd love to get a lazy $20 on a Ragozzini first goal (in the game he plays in - you'll find out tomorrow) into an Aquinas-Aquinas double.

Would love to if I had the funds to back it. It's just a bit of fun boys, perhaps we can post fantasy bets on both games and see who comes out on top for bragging rights as I have with Jono Healy this season.

Mrs Harper would kill me if we had to sell our newly acquired house to cover footy bets.

It has come to that time of year already . In my opinion the most consistent 2 teams in the both comps are playing off for the flag and associated silverware.

In the 1's I expect it to be a physical game with SMD in and under players doing a lot of work when the pill is in dispute. Aquinas has several players that have a skill level which wouldn't be out of place in the higher levels of the comp. The midfield rotations will be critical with anything up to nine or ten players having a significant role in the centre bounces. Especially the way that Aquinas rotates their midfielders via the wings and half forward.

SMD will be asking for big games from Cheevers who did well to be Runners up to Robbo on Monday night :thumbsu: ! Aqualina is a vital cog for SMD and his workrate in the middle generally mirrors SMD output. He brings others into the game by hand and foot often to allow more skillful and penetrative kickers to deliver the footy long to the tall forwards. M.Costello should expect more respect from the opposition this week but is still capable of kicking anything between 3 and 6 goals if the Aquinas coaching staff get the matchup wrong.
In the Aquinas camp Tibb off half back will play the role of a quarterback and attempt to setup as much play as possible for the leading Half Forwards and beyond. Via using the ball effectively to the all the forwards advantage. Naulty will be hoping to use the expanses of Gerry Green to get some effective shots on goal and but will need to be mindful at this time of the year the breeze can change quarter by quarter at GG. Den Brabner is a class act and will win a lot of the around the ground. For his team utilise his ball winning ability he will need protection provided by team mates to assist his delivery.

In summary my major concerns are - how will Aquinas combat the SMD talls ? And has the SMD got the necessary leg speed to go with Aquinas ? I am going to tip SMD by 14 points as I think that the talls will make the difference to win the game !

In the 2's

Aquinas should go into the game as underdogs but were very impressive their last start in their demolition of SMD. The forward line of Visser, D.Boland and Ragozzini worked a treat rotating out of the goal square. Love gave the midfield some hardness which is always necessary in finals. He just needs to keep his discipline in check to have a major influence in the result of this game. Kinghorn will need a game similar to the one he played last week. He will encounter Big Mick and Borg who are both very good ruckmen in their right. I am thinking Diker will rotate the big fellas on the full forward line in a effort to stretch the Bloods defence. The big fellas will need to minded by one of the better defenders (M.Boland) to be kept in check. The amount of running players both sides have will ensure that the game will be played a quick tempo. The game may yet be decided in the first quarter in which side settles first. As Werribee will have a couple players dropping back from the 1's it should be enough to get them over the line by 34 points.

To all the players and coaches good luck for tomorrow ! Enjoy the day !Finally to the regular posters on this forum its been good fun writing along side you all this season. Generally no personal attacks (except about my lack of leg speed ;)) and at times pretty funny stuff.

Sloth out !

Sloth- Are there many players from Weribees ones that can drop down to the twos? i think from memory weribees twos side on the first week of the finals noone from their seniors could get dropped into the twos, therefore i dont know if their side would of changed much from the first final? I could be wrong tho!!
Either way its 22 Vs 22 and come 4.30 tomorrow afternoone there could be a couple of happy clubs or for my sake i hope their is only 1 happy club!
