Considering how the teams who came down from D1 went this season, I wouldn't expect too much from Pahran and Yarra Valley, especially Yarra Valley, who had a terrible year

hummmmm........strange as I was at Cramer street and on the committee at IAFC? the only thing happening at Hoe park is a few NFL playing there next year........and a few A-grade players from this year??? not to mention some...........

An interesting scoop below posted by Rooster1979 on D3 2009 thread-

I talked to Michael Sholly while he was on the piss last night at the presentation night and here is what is happenning in '09

The SFL is downgrading to 2 Divisons of 12 teams as 1-2 clubs seems certain to fold. The remaining 2-3 Sides are likely to either get the chop or helped to be moved on to other leagues. (There are currently 2 x 10 team grades and 1 x 8)

If 2 sides are granted entry into the VAFA, D3 will also become a 12 team comp, if 3 sides, D2 will also become an 11 team comp.

Promotion and relagation will work like this:

2 New teams - D4 - Two new teams enter. D3 - Two promoted from D4, NONE relegated to D4. Normal promotion / relegation between D3/D2.

3 New Teams - Same as above but only one team will be relegated from D2 to D3 (St. Mary's Salesian)

Well Chump, I don't think its really that strange that Ivanhoe were being 'discussed' ....it would be stranger if Ivanhoe were actually considering it (which clearly you are not). Just about every district side from D2 down got a mention where I was standing (including Kew and Banyule).

Div 3 in the NFL has a bit of work to do I guess...Silly season indeed!

Eltham charged with conduct unbecoming in that during the whole match Eltham supporters allegedly used personal abusive language towards the umpires and then verbally abused the umpires after the match.
Eltham pleaded guilty and fined $500 of which $250 is a bond for 2009. The behaviour of playing coach J. Garrard was unsatisfactory and he (if appointed in 2009) is required to attend a meeting of the VAFA/AFCA and one umpire's training night prior to the first match of 2009. A letter of apology from club to VAFA and directed to the two umpires at the VAFAUA (Joel Morrison and Peter James). Failure to comply will be referred to the board.

This guy was at it all year, every game, every umpire.

A true disgrace...
