D4 D4 2009 Part 2

I heard today that there could be another new side I assume in D4, no idea who they are the person I was speaking to didn't know.

Manny

That would be Point Cook I presume. They will enter the VAFA in D4 next year provided they can get two sides together. They have about a dozen junior sides so will probably be another Rupertswood type club - quickly climbing up the grades. Will more than likely be a flag contender next year.

Word out of WRFL is that Point Cook juniors are to be thrown out if they have a Senior side entered in VAFA and not WRFL........stay tuned

Congrats to young gun Adam Jeffery who won the North Brunswick B&F after a super first season.

Robbie Santacroce finished second for probably the 3rd or 4th time and had another wonderful year.

Good to see Trev Ackland win the Ressies B&F - a very popular and deserving winner.

Always good to have a first year player do well in club BnF hopefully you guys can push for senior finals next year.
Well done to Trev in the 2's, I heard his brother won an interesting award also, do you care to advise the bigfooty folk of this prestigous award?

The boys at Mt.Lilydale are heading over to Tassie next week for 4 days of mayhem. Realy looking forward to the minimum sleep and maximum consumption of liquid!;)

Would be surprised if that happened. Werribee have numerous juniors teams competing in the WRFL and their seniors in the VAFA. Would they then also get the boot?

Difference being that when Point Cook started up and applied for affiliation with WRFL they stated to Memnmer Clubs at COM that if and when a Senior side commenced it would be in WRFL .......other teams such as Werribee were already in WRFL.

North Old Boys Juniors were refused admittance last year to WRFL because their Senior side would still be in VAFA.......

Fair enough. A delicate issue and I can understand the arguments on both sides. St Bernards are another club with juniors in WRFL and seniors in the VAFA. Even though St Bernards, Werribee etc are established clubs I would imagine Point Cook would highlight a lack of consistency if they were given the boot from the WRFL while the others were allowed to remain.

I went on a footy trip to Tasmania 3 seasons back, It was one to forget! Make sure you fellas dont try getting on a plane after a few to many cold ones, half my club had to pay for a new flight 9 hours later. Although on a positive note, there does seem to be a 2-1 ratio in favour of the ladies out and about of a night.

Lets just hope we get a 12th team (Assumption) OR the Ivanhoe Teams merge so we don't have to have a bye (or two).

if the ivanhoe teams merge u would think the gryphoons would not come down

there is also talk Bentleigh are looking at a move to the southern league and Chadstone to field just a clubbies. The vafa will decide on the best fit for Point Cook is what i read from the letter that got sent to all clubs and no official word on Assumption OC.

Would be a surprise to me if Bentleigh were looking at a return to Southern, they came to VAFA for financial reasons and from what I know they could not return to paying players .

I think you will find the main reason Nth Old Boys were not voted in was because they didn't bother to attend the AGM to put forward their case.

Also, same year Point Cook entered WRFL they allowed Old Westbourne to enter Juniors BUT didn't state that there Seniors had to play in WRFL .....double standards?

By the way FinalsTilt, interesting to see that you like to 'float' between 2 sites, VAFA & WRFL

Chadstone had better numbers this season than any of the previous 3 seasons, so shouldnt be an issue having two teams again next year.

LTUFC B and F

Leigh Coffey- smashed it in!

Hey Trucka i think you will find a lot of people look at different sites and not just Finals tilt. Especially coaches of teams, and lets face it. If your serious about coaching and doing the best for the club you currently coach, then you would be having a glance at just about every site with in your current clubs radius to not only keep an eye on names and recruit, but also you never know when your time is up at one club as coach and you want to move to another.

Sammy Wright#16 took out the South Mornington B&f with 110 votes ahead of our Captain Grant Ryan#18 on 96 votes.
Sammy had a fantastic year and Grant is just a quality player off half back.

Also the South boys headed to Glenelg for our trip, was a great weekend, went into adelaide a few nights, casino, rippers and checked out the SANFL pre lim final at AAMI which was cool. recommend it

Went to the Point Cook meet and greet tonight, apparently there is 60 odd players signed up to play, and the new oval probably wont be being used next season because there isnt a club rooms there yet, so games will be played at the other point cook oval. (the juniors one) seems very small for seniors.
