u wouldn be trying to stir up things between sm and manningham would u bigwaz?....perhaps maybe hoping for a manningham win, which would suggest being a little worried about sm come finals time?

to be honest we're not sure who we'd rather play. of course sm without their leading goal kicker would be ok :). : guess that sm's ruckman will be back for the finals. i'm just hoping that kew put in a performance like they did against ep a while back against nb. sm play hard running footy. mtl are a different ballgame altogether. if we play sm, at least we know they have to wear the crappy away jumpers. either way, expect rc to be fired up. problem is if we win, and kew lose, then we have to wear the shit jumpers as well. sm might have to do it twice!

Re: tu

Seen a great game of footy today down at Nth Bruns, tight all day. good to watch the 2 sides go at it. Nth Bruns running game vs Kew long kicking marking game. well done to both sides.
Nth Brun could be the side to watch next year very young, midfield would be up there with the best in the comp.

yeah it is great that us down at South could just get in the five to play our first Senior finals ever:D, a great achievement:D, Manningham played a great game and play thier ground well but we managed to claw over in the last qtr with the wind:D.

Interesting to see Kew only getting over NB by 2 goals, are Kew struggling coming in to finals or are NB going to be contenders next season:confused:??

As for you and your snakes Waz, bring it on i say, we have had two fantastic battles this season, both close games and i dont see why this weeks elimanation final will be any different, i cant wait personally:thumbsu:.

Kew missing Duke, Horne, Poxon, Tasker and a few others and also NB are a much better team than what people and the ladder give them credit for. Definite contenders for next year.

Fair enough, so how long will these players be out for??? is injuries gonna cost Kew in thier finals campaign???

Yep - kudos to SM - they played a good last quarter to get into the 5. The Cobras certainly gave them a good game to lead into next week.

Bad luck to ML who weren't far away.

Good luck to all in the finals.:thumbsu:

Any fireworks at the Manningham v SM game?

Nah - SM love a bit of niggle around the ball, but they're not normally a team that carries on with it. (I like the way they play the game personally. It's a game with testosterone, plenty of reminders that they're about, but nothing too ridiculous to set off the fireworks.)

It wasn't SM I thought would be the institgator........

I know it has been touched on previously, but you would think the MTL coach would be pretty upset with the "outs" against Manningham earlier in the year........

Cost them a finals berth.

Do you think this would have been revisited ?

Too many lovers & not enough fighters at Manningham to get too involved in that!

People have noticed that Kew's form without Horne is usually very good...

Kew have lost 5 - Horne didn't play in 3 of those games.

Last years finals - lost both - Horne inj in 2nd quarter of first final, didn't play in second final.

Kew's best chance to win a flag is with Horne playing!!!

Finals Tips:

Kew v Latrobe - Apparently the ground is identical to Vic Park. That will help the big marking Kew forwards, and also help the midfielders contain the latrobe runners. Tell me if I'm wrong, but Kew never goes out wide at Vic Park? Perhaps Latrobe should get its fast players some space out on the wings. I'm tipping Kew by 1 point.

RC v SM - Can't say much about this, aside from the fact that both games so far have been fairly even contests. We are probably a little taller around the ground, but the tigers have the pace on us, and do well at loose ball contests. We will be very happy to win by 1 point.

Reserves (both rematches from round 18...odd):

NB v Kew - A week later, NB's reserves have all the momentum coming in and will be very hard to stop. But Kew are unpredictable. I'm going with NB by 3 goals.

AP v MTL - A week later, AP's reserves have all the momentum coming in and will be very hard to stop. But MTL are unpredictable. I'm going with AP by 3 goals. [ I had to edit this, because I realised MTL may have a few seniors in this week, so I'm going for MTL by 3 goals. ]

I just revisited my preseason predictions and I wasn't to far off, missed on SM & NB playing better than predicted and BHN & Mt L not playing as well as predicted

1.Kew (were just as good as WB, until killed by injuries in finals)
2.Mt Lilydale (home ground advantage is huge, also killed by injuries in finals)
3.La Trobe (a lot of new recruits, there is always a demoted team that performs well, so I pick them)
4.Albert Park (could finishes anywhere 1-5, a lot of new recruits)
5.RC (strong last year, but will need all new recruits playing the majority of games to make fiinals. Whiting a big loss.)
6.Swinburne Uni (Don't know anything about them, other than be a D3 team, wil be there abouts)
7.EP (Could be anything, capable of beating good teams, but often lose games to teams they should beat)
8.Sth Morn (Also could be anything, travel is a huge worry, but it appears they have a pretty good draw)
9.BHN (Is no news good news?? Maybe, all is quiet on this front, no recruits on the clearance page, so I rate them low based on last year)
10.Manningham ( On the improve but are starting from a long way back)
11.NB (Young team, rebuilding)
12. Chadstone (The club's had a shake up so probably rebuilding)

Predictions based on big footy banter and the clearence page.

Tips

Seniors - Qualifying Final
Kew vs La Trobe Uni - LTU by 2 goals. This could go either way, if Horne plays I would tip Kew ... if he doesn't play then I would tip LTU. I have a feeling he will play ... Kew by 2 goals

Seniors - Elimination Final
Richmond vs South Mornington - RC will be desperate to win a final and the travel will hurt SM. RC by 5 goals.

Reserves - Qualifying Final
Kew vs North Brunswick - NB by 3 goals, a few 'Senior' players back in the Reserves will make them stronger.

Reserves - Elimination Final
Albert Park vs Mt Lilydale - MtL by 2 goals, as with NB they will be bolstered by their Seniors not playing finals:D.
