I am sorry but I disagree. The context of being injured has nothing to do with Collingwood. During this time he has been supported by the club and given access to the best physios and doctors. Despite the nature of his injury he was offered a good contract and according to Geoff Walsh would likely sign. As recently as last week he hinted that he may still sign, giving false hope to supporters. His decision to play for our most hated rival is an act of treason. He deserves to receive every bit of the vitriol directed at him.
Right on the money mate,he deserves everything he is going to receive if I were playing against him the 1st thing I would be doing is stamping on his foot and kicking his ankle.

He's gone, I just heard it on the radio.
$2.5 mil over 4 years.
He is officially at Carlturd-wood.
Pick 11 and an uncorrupted ankle coming our way.
GO PIES.

He can't become a Scum Player too 10am Tommorow

I just heard on the radio that Daisy officially accepted an offer from Caltonwood for 2.5 mil over 4 years. That true? if so...
BUAHAHAHAHH CARLTON.
Our trash is their treasure, as was with Scotland.

Good on the prick for taking the money but if he wanted another flag he won't get one. I don't count McKenna and McGuane as having done the sin of switching because they were well past it and only spent a season there, therefore I don't hold it against them.

Thomas is obviously a different deal, he's still got a few years to go and just went for the money. I look forward to booing him next season. To me he always seemed like a smartass little shit whose only main concern was for himself and this has consolidated my thoughts.

hmmm HS reported 700k. if the figure is 625k per year that could take it down to category b compensation which is an end of first round pick. wont be at all happy if thats the case.

In all honesty, I would be mighty pissed if Murphy jumped ship and can totally understand how infuriating it would be after his comments the other day - I certainly thought his re-signing with Collingwood was imminent. My apologies if I've upset any posters - was not my intention to cause a ruckus.

On Daisy - personally I reckon $700k is more than he's worth with the risk but hoping our docs can get him back to 100%, because at his best he was amazing to watch from an opposition point of view. At least this way, you guys get #11 and can likely bargain a first rounder for Adams, which is a great get for you guys.

Win/Win all around.

Now that's better, you are welcome to stay around as our resident Carlton pet if you like.

I must say I am surprised to see you boys here but not as surprised to learn you and your mate can both can read.Let me make myself clear Thomas saying some very smart arse things over the last week has a very large target on his back as he will find soon enough.Speaking personally I would have no compunction about testing his ankle none what so ever does that make clear enough for you he is totally fair game as far as I am concerned.

Please forgive the intrusion. I too would be pissed to lose a Daisy quality player to your lot (I know, I know... you don't think we have any)... however I have to question the above post. Firstly, do you really believe we poached Mick Malthouse from you? Seems to me he was superseded... And I'm wondering if you might consider that the one who has superseded Mick is perhaps creating an environment in which gun players like Daisy start look elsewhere for their opportunities? Pretty sure Daisy would still be at the Pies if Mick had not been moved on.

Once again, apologies for the intrusion, and I'll see myself out.
We KNOW you don't have any. Deep down, you do too.

This free agency thing brings up issues of it's own doesn't it. It certainly benefits the stronger clubs than it does the rebuilding ones.

Malthouse is certainly not coaching for the long term in regards to Carlton. It's a quick 2 or 3 year thing to try and get a flag and make himself look the Idol that he certainly believes he is.

AFL is starting to get an English Premier League feel to it. Think we will see a few more Ross Lyon situations where a coach goes to a club, bang it hard for 4 years, recruit mature age players, and then leave when they are at the end of the cycle, leaving someone else to deal with the issue.

Takes a really strong person to come into a club, be prepared to get rid of some experienced heads, play the kids and use draft picks in order to make them a great club long term. This is why I'll back Bucks (whilst still losing my sh!t on game day when we get beat) !! He genuinely loves Collingwood and wants us to become a powerhouse, rather than a short term quick fix.

Don't think he's worth $700k.

Don't think he'll last 4 years.

Happy with pick 11 for him.

Would wish him all the best if he was at any other club. But he's at Carlton, so I hope his ankle snaps off. I hope Judd's shoulder snaps off too & Gibb's vag gets infected, so no 'sour grapes' got Thomas.

Love the fact that Carlton supporters used to get stick into him for his softness & now he's going to lead them out of the wilderness. I know this as one of my brothers supports those dirty, cheating bastards.

Even if he had stayed at Collingwood I'd be surprised if he got a full season out of his body. He will be 27 before he returns to senior and be on a 2.5 million contract eating away salary cap space. For the sake of you guys he would want to have 50-100 games left in him, which I personally can't see him getting near.
