Don't think he's worth $700k.

Don't think he'll last 4 years.

Happy with pick 11 for him.

Would wish him all the best if he was at any other club. But he's at Carlton, so I hope his ankle snaps off. I hope Judd's shoulder snaps off too & Gibb's vag gets infected, so no 'sour grapes' got Thomas.

Love the fact that Carlton supporters used to get stick into him for his softness & now he's going to lead them out of the wilderness. I know this as one of my brothers supports those dirty, cheating bastards.
It'd be the same for us if their young gun Bootsma came to us in 5 years. O wait, hes just a shit campaigner

Why so much vitriol? I'd take pick 11 for a 26 year old Dale Thomas with dodgy ankles every day of the week. Also free's up space to sign our own/go after FA players the next few years.

We are going through a bit of a mini rebuild, and two top 11 picks and whatever we get for Heath Shaw should help significantly with that.

Please forgive the intrusion. I too would be pissed to lose a Daisy quality player to your lot (I know, I know... you don't think we have any)... however I have to question the above post. Firstly, do you really believe we poached Mick Malthouse from you? Seems to me he was superseded... And I'm wondering if you might consider that the one who has superseded Mick is perhaps creating an environment in which gun players like Daisy start look elsewhere for their opportunities? Pretty sure Daisy would still be at the Pies if Mick had not been moved on.

Once again, apologies for the intrusion, and I'll see myself out.

Your are correct in terms of Mick. He was in the media when you hired him so nothing to do with Collingwood. As for the environment that Buck's is creating, there are a number of ways to look at it. Perhaps he has professional expectations that players like Daisy are not prepared to sign up for. Who knows?

Malthouse has put his relationship with Thomas ahead of the Blues. It's a massive mistake he's made but for Buckley if he gets pick 11 right could come out shining for once.
FFS, that's two of your posts I've now liked.

If he doesn't get on the park, this will be a massive blunder for the blues. Let's be honest- we didn't think he's worth the risk & that coin.

We did offer him a contract & withdrew it after his injury. Why do people forget this all of a sudden?

I wouldn't rule that out. That being said, Bucks was well known for his fastidiously high standards... And they served hime well. However, perhaps those expectations are just a little onerous.

Not for Pendles their not, and given the year Swan had not for him either. Don't worry about us mate.

Let us not forget that Daisy has not been poached.

We... COLLINGWOOD are CHOOSING NOT to match the ludicrous offer by Carlton.

We could keep him... if we thought he was worth that much.

2.4 million over 4 years?? Without playing barely any football over the last 2 years. NO. Absolutely not. Not in a million years.

Daisy has every right to go for that money. Collingwood would not offer him 3/4 of that and while he is going to the scum, he is a professional footballer. He may not even be playing football 1 year from now. Best to milk it while he can.

Carlton fans may see it as some mini victory but I see it a lot differently. I see a senior coach, who is doing everything he can to fuel his own egotistical fantasies.

Good luck Daisy. Thanks for the compo, cap space and the '10 grandfinal.

Don't know if your joking but he is correct.
Seriously?
heck! Wouldn't surprise me if those pricks made it just under the limit for band 1 compo. Can we get clarification on this from someone? (Links would be good here)

Surely, that changes the ball game a bit...

hmmm HS reported 700k. if the figure is 625k per year that could take it down to category b compensation which is an end of first round pick. wont be at all happy if thats the case.
That's good science.
you didn't read the post which i was replying to. it said he would be paid 2.5 million over 4 years which if i'm not mistaken is 625k per year.

Heard it first on SEN then on Fox fm at work <---lol at fox but if 2 radio stations said it now its concrete enough for me.
firstly, why did you start a new thread?
secondly, thomas isnt trash, have another look at the 2010 grand finals
thirdly, scotland would have been a beauty if we held on to him
fourthly, read firstly, secondly and thirdly again

firstly, so people wouldnt have to go through 90 pages of (daisy plans to leave) thread
secondly, this is 2013, moving on to 2014... or should i look at how he played in 2012 and 2013 hrm, get over your nostalgia, hes cooked.
thirdly, if you rate scotland that much good luck to you.
fourthly, firstly secondly thirdly and forthly, im happy you can count.

You say this but that's probably the best season he had under us. He was good but I'd say wholly inconsistent over his career barring 2010 as he was one of our best.

If Thomas is to go then that's up to him. It's just a shame that loyalty in Football is decreasing as time goes on. He would never have recovered to his best and he definitely won't succeed at Carlton.

That also baffles me. Why would Carlton want to recruit him? I think they actually need more forward types and better defenders or just to fold completely as they are complete scum.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure one of the criteria is $650K.

Maybe we should offer Daisy $649,999 & see if the Blues up there offer.
Could be a dangerous game though.

Is it onerous to expect a player with an injured ankle to do rehab instead of surfing on that ankle?

That's the sort of player you've picked up. You may get a Judd or another Hamill, no one knows yet. Good luck with that...

Agree.like Thomas but stinks of nepotism.and vindictive.I'm getting worried
