Since 2018 our strategy has been to trade next year's first and then next year trade players to get back into the draft, that will continue where in future players like Bergman and Butters are potential flight risks.

The objective last year was to trade in some resources to improve both defence and the ruck, where people seems to forget Geelong demanding next year's first founder for Esava. Splitting it for a brace of second rounders stopped the Geelong whinging and enabled a trade for Solda where both Sav & Ivan were outstanding for us early, before Ivan was injured.

This year the objective is to improve the forward line where Richards & Luko will assist with and improve our goal scoring capacity.
If we improve our coaching department we won't have to be grasping at straws every trade and draft period.

Dan should realise that Port are doing the right thing by him in letting him return to Victoria. So in return he doesn’t get to choose the Victorian club, Port does.

So show some bloody gratitude and agree to go to North Melbourne
And not to Collingwood who stole Perryman from under our noses.

We have asked for Norths Pick 2 and future 2nd.
Currently in negotiations regarding this.
But North are saying its too much at this stage for Houston.

This is according to a poster linked to North on their thread.

I have no doubt this is in play... Hence Dan not nominating.

I feel North will look to split the pick.

My guess on that front was that they saw getting Soldo, Rat, BZT etc as the final missing piece of the puzzle to what they deemed was a premiership list.
Does the club realise Kens fluffers run with “the list is shit M8” the nanosecond old mate comes under any pressure

I realise pick 2 is a very high end first round pick but we've already scrapped the 2 first rounders idea it seems.

It'll be 1 second rounder by the end of the weekend

****, just take pick 2 and don't be greedy. Pants down lap if that happened.

Draft watchers, would we be better off splitting the pick into something like 8 + 18 or just keeping it at pick 2

In theory, and in a vacuum considering nothing else, this isn't terrible. We finish top 4 with two glaring on field weaknesses, we overpay but get the best options of those missing pieces available to us. That's not bad list management in the specific lens of 2023 going into 2024.

The issue is we do this every ****ing year, then push someone out when we realise we've ballsed it up and those pieces weren't the answer. And that then makes it even more remarkable that we are are willing to go "oh, we got it wrong, let's cop we lost that and try something else" with the list constantly but when it comes to the Donuts sitting on top of it all we seem scared to make any changes and are just happy to keep him sitting there just in case he finally flukes it and comes good.

If that's for real, we're not about to buy the 3 Hyundai Excels, even with flames painted on the side.

Pick 2 is plenty just take it.

Good to know Collingwood hasn't changed since 2003.

hey we've worked out a trade that neither of our trading partners agree with and Jon Ralph says we're the frontrunners. Where's our player?

It's only Thursday, this has to drag out for days yet. Bailey Smith can't fill a week on his own.
