Saw Dan at the footy tonight with a couple of friends one looked like his mum in the outer. He is a little taller than I thought but a lot more solid build than you get the impression from TV.

Seeing players in public displays what sort of physical specimens they really are.

Brett Eddy looked like a total man beast sitting eating his food tonight at mama carmelas down the bay. He looked like a silverback gorilla eating at a table.

When you consider he's not even that tall as far as forwards go - you appreciate just how big these guys are.

Eddy has very broad shoulders. No wonder he has a decent don't argue.

Played well again. Good intercepting and solid kick. That head knock by Cameron should have been a down field free.

So many little 'moments' that could have swung the game our way that were missed by the umpires, but that one was definitely the turning point. From then, you just knew that we weren't going to win because you can't play football when one side is allowed to get away with shit and the other isn't.

Did that little cave man get cited?

I thought getting a front on decking whilst kicking the ball was against the rules, the Port players obviously did know the rules as most stopped for the resultant free kick to be given to Dan. That hesitation by our players cost us a goal, thank you very much.

Nice to see Houston get some attention in the Melbourne papers today.

They generally don't give it to players who've played in losses unless they have an exceptional game.
George Castagna with 4 goals against the Lions is probably the current clubhouse leader.

Andrew McGrath for Essendon had 28 touches but wasn't in the best players. Brayden Fiorini for the Suns had 31 and was in the best players.

I reckon he will get one for consistency.

After about 8 or 9 rounds where players that had standout individual games have picked up the nominations, the selectors often start to look for players that have been doing their job well week in - week out!

Copped a backhand from Toby Greene last night.

2 weeks in a row he's got some physical attention from the opposition.
Channel 7 saying it will be just a fine for Greene.

So we need to make sure vs Carlton we bump people late in the head (no free kick, play on!) and then backhand them for good measure at every opportunity #copthefine

At the end of last year I was a believer that Riley Bonner was going to be the defender to slot in and play a role after we canned O'Shea, but I think Houston has pretty much stolen his chances for this season at least :drunk:

Looking like a really composed and tough player - shades of Byrne-Jones from last year really. One to watch.

A bit late on the scene but last nights game was really impressive. We might be lucky enough to have a 200 gamer on our hands.

Type of player that in recent years we have come to associate with Hawthorn.
No frills, no fuss and does everything just right.
