Personally, I think supporters put footballers on a pedastal that do not deserve to be on.
A vast majority of them are as dumb as dog shit. I know the parents of a current player @ bomberland who are so rapt that their son has made it as a footballer, only because they dont have to lie in bed wondering what he's going to do with the next 10 years, and hopefully makes enough monety to be comfortable. he's dumber than dog-shit. Call it the "Dougie Hawkins factor"
We have to divorce ourselves from the off-field antics of footballers, and only support them when they are playing. I know a hawk supporter who would defend Martin Bryant if he'd played for Hawthorn.
Anyway, lets get back to more important things like taking the piss out of everyone....I just hate hearing supporters sticking up for these prima-donnas for things they do off the field

I think I know what I am talking about. He didn't plead guilty to assault or Griveous bodily harm etc. Pleading guilty to affray simply means you admit you were in a fight in a public place that scared some people. It's like disturbing the peace. Using that as your sole reason to prove guilt for charges that would be assault or griveous bodily harm would be stupid, ignorant or niave.
Exactly mate, I agree. There are plenty of w***ers out there who go looking for trouble when they see guys like Swan. Swan sticks out like a sore thumb with his tattoos, but perhaps he didn't know or care who the others were? We don't know who started it, but we know who finished it. If this cleaner dude was one of the bogans that go out looking for trouble on a regular basis, I'm kind of glad he got what was coming to him.

Ablett Snr was not a listed player at Geelong when he was involved in the death of Alicia Horan. And yes, he was a dog to do what he did.

Now as far as not paying goes, if he is required by law to pay his share of the $100,000 ($33,333) then rightly so, he should pay.

When Ablett was delisted by Hawthorn, he spent time in jail whilst playing for Myrtleford. They would release him on Saturday's to play footy, he was recruited/spotted to Geelong whilst doing time in jail.
He also assaulted (& was convicted) a Pizza delivery man in 91' who was putting away Gary Jr's mum. He was on Geelong's list at the time. He was always a dog. At Geelong, that is good enough for club legend status, not so at Collingwood.
Well, I'm pretty sure you do go on about some things involving Carlton that happened some time ago. We see what we want to see.
