The reason we are all so interested in this is the cross dressing part. Doesn't make you a bad person or a transphobe or anything, it is seriously just a shocking turn that this otherwise normal albeit sad story took.

Jon Ralph said that he has had drug problem for a couple of decades. They can effect your behaviour and judgement. He doesn’t appear to making best decisions when you consider he may have been arrested a few times and hence why not released on bail

Why can’t you believe it? It’s a big story and headline grabbing photos landed in their lap. They are just doing their job.

Just because the photos were out there - on a private WhatsApp conversation - does not mean they should be posted on the front page of a newspaper. I hadn't seen them until the HS published.....many of Laidley's friends and family likely the same.

Newspapers make decisions to publish or not publish all the time. The Age made decision not to publish these photos that were obviously taken without Laidley's knowledge and at a time when he was probably at the lowest point in his life. Sometimes newspapers make good decisions - not publishing the photos taken at the police death accident a couple of weeks ago for example. In this case, the HS made a very poor decision posting phots that would cause distress to many people and served no useful news purpose other than scandal.

Those comments are coming from the same type of people you see in this video. The type that would be quick to label someone as transphobic if they made joking comments about someone who dressed like Laidley did in the cop shop and would feel morally superior to those people.

Yet deeper down they do not respect the lifestyle of cross dressers or transpeople. They say they do but they really look upon them with pity. They assume something is not mentally right with them. They are not as capable as others so their agency is reduced. They might be 'suicidal' as has been mentioned many times as a possibility about Laidley.

These people think they have good morals and are compassionate yet they really do not respect transpeople or cross dressers as equal. They look upon them with pity and as inferior and apply a lower standard to them.
