Yep it most likely would have been better to have delisted Jackson last year and picked up someone from the second tier comps. Magner would be a massive improvement on Jacko or maybe that Valenti guy. Pretty sure the big knock on him is his speed which would be no problem compared to Jacko. These guys are probably just stop gaps who won't last but so is Jackson.

an upgrade is an uprade or an improvement is an improvement. theres nothing that says that upgrade has to be long term. if we go get say wheeler to replace jacko and he would be an improvement then in two yrs have to find a replacement for wheeler as long as its a better player the bar is continually being raised.

its funny few acknowledge its just as important to value add if you ke and raise the standard as it is to make sure you get 3 or 5 good players thru trade and draft each yr.

Posted the following in the Edwards thread. Does hurt me to say this about Jackson as he's a great young man and has a great head on his shoulders. His kicking however when under even just a bit of pressure is average to poor at best.

I've defended Jackson over the years and have been a big supporter of his. However, I think he needs time in the 2's to practice his kicking. He doesn't seem to have improved at all over the last few years and he can no longer rely on getting a game by being the recognised tagger.

Agree that White is the one for a straight swap for Jacko. We may lose a little bit re strength in the clinches but we'll gain plenty of run from White.

I can't stand this guy why the hell is he even playing elite football, why is he in our best 22? seriously he is the definition of a fringe player and i am so sick of seeing his **** ups week in and out.

He cost us momentum today when we were about to charge forward, after his shit plays we seemed to lose it and never recovered, i have seen this same thing in the last few matches.

Has to go in my opinion...........would rather webberly getting some exp in his place.

How he has survived the cull for so long is beyond comprehension. Would be lucky to get a game with GWS IMO. Has the worst skills in the AFL. My god he's frustrating to watch.

Time to get over this, old news. Yes he needs to be replaced long term in our 22. Along with 4 or 5 others in the side. People are just so dead set against him that no game he plays is ever going to be acceptable. Was nowhere near our worst today. When we have the big bodied replacement ready to come into the side, it's curtains for him. Hopefully Arnot is ready soon. But until then, accept that he's gonna be in the team.

How can we get over this mate when he is still in the side ? and thats a load of crap mate, people are dead set against him because he is shit, if by some miracle he started to play elite football or even high end fringe i would be ok but that is not the case and i am under no ****ing illusions there...

McCarthy would be a huge upgrade ... but we would have kept him.
It's a sorry state of affairs and I suggest a bit of a running joke among other club's supporters, but this guy is in our leadership group!!!
Someone down at our club has a far different opinion to the majority ... and I don't think tens of thousands of Tiger supporters can get it that wrong!

Do you think Hardwick is watching a different game? Do you think Hardwick just doesn't notice the errors?

If we can see it, watching the game live and maybe watching a replay, do you really think Hardwick doesn't know exactly what is going on after watching the replay for the fifth time by monday afternoon?

The coaches spend the whole week reading over stats, watching video's and having meetings. They clearly know what they want the players to do, and Jackson must be doing these things. Whether it be blocking, spoiling, doing their role in the zone, whatever it may be. I don't know, and I can't wait for Jackson to be replaced. I have no doubt the coaching staff do too, but they obviously believe Jackson is doing the little things asked of the players and it sets an example to the younger players that if you do the team things then you get games.

That being said, I will be jumping for joy when Dea/Arnott/Helbig replace him.

Easily in our best 22. Was an advocate in getting him. Should have offered Collingwood a late draft pick we weren't using to get him.

Would be a pick up like Grigg, add to that second tier that we need so badly.
