Interested in you thoughts on whether the mighty Lions tshould look at trading for Daniel Kerr, personally I think he would a great acquisition.

But what would it take?

I don't think he is worth our first pick...perhaps a player and a pick.

Dalziell wants to go home...so Dalziell and second/third round pick?

Would love Kerr but mate it would take a hell of alot more than Dalziell and our second or 3rd round pick. Probs 2 good players and 2nd round or first. No thanks unless we were lucky and got him on the cheap like you say. He is only what 26?

Kerr has proven over the last 2 seasons to be a soft front runner. Hasn't got a great off the field record either. Pass.

The Eagles would accept nothing less than a first round pick AND either a second round pick or decent player as a minimum.

All this talk of throwing late draft picks and underperforming players after him is fantasy. Please!

Sorry Stocka he is NOT worth a first round pick! And I do not consider a second round pick as a late draft pick.

Especially considering he missed most of this year and numerous games last year.

Although Collingwood did give up pick 14 for Cameron Wood!

The Eagles aren't going to want to let him go easily so it would probably mean us giving up a first rounder.

It is unlikely the Lions would chase after him I would have thought. IF Dalziell wanted to leave, then I would like to think that Voss would go for a similar aged player rather than young for old.

Jesus - read your own thread title mate - you've asked "what would it TAKE", not "what is he WORTH"... so discuss your own thread title in context mate.... a required player at West Coast, under contract, no even whisper of trade potential... so answer your own question - what would it TAKE to pry him from us

Not even close.

Would you trade Rich for Staker and a 2nd/3rd round pick?

That is a completely different scenario, Rich is young whilst Staker is mid-aged. And I concede that we may need to offer two players plus a draft pick.

Kerr has possibly only four years left in him and has shown post Judd and Cousins that he is not a number 1 midfielder.

Me thinx the Eagles will be prepared to move him on.

OK, would you trade Drummond for McKinley and a 2nd/3rd rounder?

Listen champ I am not even suggesting that this will take place. And thank you for your detailed semantic analysis of my thread title versus content.

I admire Kerr's footballing abilities and think he would be a good fit for us. I do not however believe he is worth or would TAKE a first round pick.

No.

Drummond is more important to us than Kerr is to West Coast...and as I have said two players and a draft pick is probably more suitable.

God damn, don't hang me out to dry here...I am just interested as to what it would take.

What do you think it would take Grim?

A first round draft pick at a bare minimum.

No club would trade quality for quantity, so I don't think the two players plus a draft pick is realistic.

If West Coast are going to agree to let go of a quality player like Kerr then they will want some quality in return.

PertRoosOsborne, if you were West Coast, what would you want in return to benefit from trading Kerr?

I would think that the Lions don't have a suitable player for trade....Kerr is worth more than players of Dalziell's quality, unfortunately we don't have surplus players in that category.

Having said that I would not expect a first round draft pick for him. If West Coast had pick 6 and we had pick 4....then a trade of those picks would be suitable in the deal, plus a player/picks etc.

I think it is important to realise that we are not discussing the trading of a 19 year old Kerr.

Daniel Kerr

26 years old

Taken as a second round pick in 2000...number 18 overall.

Ash McGrath pick 13

Shaun Burgoynbe pick 12

Laurance Angwin pick 7

Has played 11 games in each of the last 2 years.

Would not TAKE a first round draft pick...WCE KNOW this.

Why on earth does anyone think this guy is worth a first round pick?!

Kerr would like living in Brisbane away from AFL Perth Hype
but seriously you cant afford him , costing Eagles a heap
similar to Jonathon Brown @ Brisbane.

Besides You have some off our best WA talent already without
Daniel Kerr
