Just said himself 1 week away from full training at half time on 7. One full month of training then vfl from there.

In his own words and I still don't believe, he's never coming back :(. Much like me.

Bloody hell, still so far away. Well, I guess if he can make it through a few VFL games at the end of the year we can't ask for much more. Senior games just sounds like a pipedream for 2015.

Full training in 1 week.
Best case scenario VFL in 3-4 weeks (from now).
Which will be Round 12-13 in AFL so around our bye.
Then VFL for 3-4 weeks at least meaning, again best case scenario, AFL return is possible around Rounds 16-18 depending.

Obviously I'm not expecting that.
I'm expecting him to play VFL by the end of the year but AFL return would be great! With the retirements we will have (including the ones we already had so far) I think if he finished the year strongly & fit we will give him another 1 year contract expecting him to play all NAB Challenge & AFL return Round 1.

I remember going down to one of the open pre season training sessions and seeing menz running around. After it the players went around signings autographs and taking photos with the fans and I asked him "when are you coming back?" And he said "soon, hopefully in a few weeks".

Fast forward 4 months and he is still weeks away :(

Has to be rookied next year surely. Was interesting to hear Bruce and Long discussing Menzel, Vardy and Cowan's lack of football over a long period of time last night, and how 3 list spots have been pretty much frozen.

I'd be happy for him to get a handful of games in the back half of the year in the VFL. If he can do that, providing the knees hold up, then he gets another 1year contract, another full preseason and can hopefully hit 2016 as strong as he can be.
The other injuries (hamstrings etc) are just a part of football and happen to just about every footballer at some point and while they are frustrating they are not the reason to delist him. I understand some views that he hasn't played for 3-4 years and he needs to get onto the ground but we didn't hang onto him to let him go after some minor setbacks. Again anything with the knees and he's done and he would know it but other injuries are just bad luck.
Go Menz.

It Depends. Perhaps the coffee was ordered in September 2011, the machine was sent for repairs 4 times, and you were still waiting.

And in that time the Murdoch & Kersten coffee brands just haven't done enough but are finally starting to taste nice. The Menzel brand is starting to get others chosen ahead of it due to reliability. Some of us still hold out hope the Menzel coffee will return & will taste as good as it did in 2011 :)

It can be easy to lose sight of why we've hung on to him. Menzel has all the tools to be a dynamic, damaging top line mid-size forward and we have a vacancy in that area. Whether he can still do what he could remains to be seen, but if he can, it's worth the trip.

Depends really, the Menzel brand may have exceeded its "best before" date from all those years ago. As we've seen with Morabito brand, even a quality blend can lose its edge if left unconsumed for too long.

The best coffee comes from fresh beans, recently roasted. If you "process" them a little they might still be good for plunger. If you process them a lot they are ok for instant. But they won't be as good as the original.

(Are we still talking about Menzel??)

I actually prefer Iced Coffee so the Menzel brand might actually return better after putting him in ice :D
Hey! I don't like coffee at all so I'm lost in this thread atm...

short hand notes - Partridge complaining about Menzel being hurt and not playing and then adding some smartarse shit about it.

Replies to that about not needing to be cut yet and that some people like coffee.

Ends with Partridge explaining he likes nothing.

Some people like hot, microwaved, iced coffee.

GO Catters

Tell me about it. I still remember grinding fresh beans in an old-school grinder with a winding handle when I was a kid. Great times!

Highest paid under 14's coach in the country.
3 years running.
