He had 6 disposals and no goals. Last week it was 8 disposals and no goals. At some point you have to to realise that if it looks like shit and smells like shit, it's probably shit.
I will happily concede Fog is shit when I watch a Crows game that involves a midfield with a i50 competence of better than an u/9 match.

the problem has become what is he actually bringing to the team? he was tried as a midfielder and didnt get near it. now as a forward he's still nowhere near it. but bizarrely against brisbane he was at least getting to contests, bringing the ball to ground, being competitive. tonight, didnt see him until the 3rd quarter. i think you can live with the bad games if he is crashing packs and getting the ball to others. but these anonymous performances are just a waste of time. a big guy with a good pair of hands and a lovely kick but he doesn't seem to have that determination to go to a level that he should already be at. to be that good of a kick and not having shots at goal in a game where we've had 24 shots is criminal.

Crazy as it sounds I thought Walker was worse than him tonight. Watching live anyway.

Tex played one of the worst games I've seen him play. Was soft and selfish and I don't usually bag him.

Disagree, Walker at least kicked a goal. You only say that because we expect the world from walker. He has played very poorly for a few weeks now, I would rest him next week.

End of him for this season, if he was out on contract he would be delisted. Either fortunately or unfortunately we've got him until the end of next year and we may as well take advantage of it, give him a full mental reset and hope burgess can work some magic but he's looking like a bust at this rate.

Didn't think he was that bad live. There were a few occasions where the kick went to his serious disadvantage (surprise surprise) and he managed to at least make the ball come to ground.

I don't know whether he is poor at communicating with the ball carrier. There just always seems to be a disconnect between where he's leading and where the ball ends up. He's not tall enough to win contests when at a disadvantage.

There was a play in the last qtr where he had the sit and got his hands to it but didn't take it. They're the moments he needs to take.

He is too slow, in previous years he could make some nice leads, this year it seems like he cant get ANY separation from his defender at all, I agree with a few comments above that he has probably mentally checked out. Unfortunately he's not a very good player and to top it off our terrible i50 delivery does him no favours and the fact that we are always looking for Tex doesn't help him either.

I guess i can give Fogarty one more full pre-season with Burgess and the remainder of his contract in 2023 … before I completely put the fork in him.

You can’t be the decoy, shepherding big body and just never get the ball yourself.

That game against West Coast waaaay back when, it looked like we had something special.

He has gone backwards in a big way, at a period when we all hoped he would be taking leaps and bounds.

Pity it has come to this.

Potential is just that, you need to put the rubber to the road at some point.

There was a patch of play near the end of a quarter against the Saints, where I recall he took 2 consecutive contested marks up along the ground, and nearly won a third contest if not for for the siren going off. I thought “Gee, Fog’s competed really well here”. Then the thoughts flowed on “why the heck can’t he do this more often in a match??”

Why the heck, Fog?!

Maybe become a CHB?

Easier position to play and an area of need for us.

I’m a fan and want the club to find a way for him to succeed, but he just can’t find a way to stay involved in the game still after all these years. When he gets the ball he usually does something positive with it but just doesn’t do it enough.

I don’t think it’s all down to him, but ultimately it’s his career on the line very soon, Id love to know what feedback and instructions he’s getting at the moment.

Look, despite being an unabashed fanboi of Fog, I absolutely acknowledge he's got to start doing more - no shots on goal for 2 weeks just doesn't cut the mustard.

But we've also got to start using him when we can. To have our best set shot open 45 metres out, and ignore him to (once again) put the ball on the head of Tex in the goal square is just plain dumb.

There is nothing the kid can do about that.

We also had Rowe leading 35m out from goal directly at him.

****ing Brodie Smith. Didn't even look.
